Just a quicky
I am going to make myself write more goddamnit! I'm actually writing a list of past entries I wanted to make (just to document shit) that I have to write and backdate... then I can entertain myself when I'm all alone at ungodly hours of the night/morning and can't sleep! but for now, just working n keeping up with the present.
Last Zoopy show went pretty fucking fantastic. I will post the flier in aforementioned backdated posts eventually and the pictures/video I'm editing in the future. There are a few pictures on my facebook and also on the flier for our next gig on the 16th. Its in the Mendocino area so I doubt anyone I know from around here will go, but I'm still shamelessly promoting it =) I will also, for the first time ever, have a real, tangible, physical flier - that I can hold in my hands - that I not only made myself, but that I am pictured on, of an event I'm dancing at, that I organized myself! (my part anyway....the whole dancers, choreography, skit, prop, and costume making part :p) I have STILL been working, even since the show ended, on Zoopy stuff. Its consuming my life lately! but thats okay. I made the last flier too. And now I have been working on photoshopping images so we can FINALLY be added to zoopy's myspace and figuring out this whole video thing...
The video has really been the bain of my existance. I borrowed a friends camera to record and also one of Patrick (dancing piggy boy)'s friends came and shot too. His was a minidvd cam so he just handed us the disk at the end of the night. My friends needed to be captured but I didn't have the cable so I had to wait for that. I tried to work with the minidvd first...thus began the process of figuring out how to edit .mov files. "The internet told me" I needed to convert them to .avi so I downloaded a program to do that...then I don't even know what I did but I did the same thing about 50 million times... Basically I would look up online how to do sometime, figure it out, capture or convert or whatever one of the clips, but then I would try to do the same thing to the other files (there were like 3 seperate ones on the disk) and it wouldn't work. SO I would troubleshoot that, but when I tried to do the same thing to the OTHER files a new problem would come up. I'm not gonna bore you by going into it all, eventually got them all on a 'fake' avi file (so I can edit them but the file isn't ginormous), but then windows movie maker was being a douche, then I gave up on fixing that and downloaded sony vegas 8 which is cooler anyway... then I was trying to edit the files from the minidvd while I waited for the firewire cable I needed but when my friend finally brought that it turned out his is for a mac so we had to go buy one anyway. And THEN I finally started capturing (stuff from his camera looks awesome :D ) but as I watched the file size steadily going up in MEGABYTES I realized that the 3.5 gigs I have free on my harddrive just wouldn't cut it. I really need to get a desktop computer so I can pursue all my artsy stuffs! or atleast an external harddrive... but for now I decided to finally delete WoW thus clearing about 12 gigs of space :D I haven't played that since January and its probably a good thing to get rid of anyway.
So tonight I shall be working on that =) hopefully posting soon. I texted Patrick something along the lines of "dear god, video takes up a shit ton of space" and got an amusing quote that pretty much made my night and melted away a lot of the stress. So remember kids:
"God can't compress your video files, only Lucifer can do that"
And I desperately need to make a deal with the devil at the moment :p
