What broke? Is it fixable? See if you can get a spec sheet and seriously, you may be able to fix it yourself. I've been doing more and more of that sort of stuff, and though there are millions of things I'm not even interested in trying, I've come to learn that it's not as hard as you may think.

it's a nuber of things, really. the reason why i'm so quick to get rid of it is that the store i bought it from is closing THIS WEEK. so it's either i get my money back and upgrade to a better cassette recorder (the korg CR-4 is what i had in mind) or i might just lose a $250 investment.
