The dhammapada pwns. I have a pocket copy of it. I hope you are aware... that the buddha never actually wrote anything down, and, the dhammapada is a portion of a larger text, namely, the pali canon.

I always found this image entertaining:
"If you sleep,
Desire grows in you
Like a vine in the forest.
Like a monkey in the forest
You jump from tree to tree,
Never finding the fruit"
