So I've always wanted to know, and maybe you can tell me: do sign language speakers need interpreters when they're speaking with people who sign from a different locality (say, American Sign Language vs. Signed English, or whatever it is that's used in England), or is it similar enough where people could get by?

sign language is actually very interesting since it verges on being almost a universal language. a lot of the signs are universal across languages (or from what i can understand thus far). I'm still very early on in my learning. So far i can spell the word "asshole", sign, "fairy princess" and ask where the rest room is. these will all come in handy i can tell.
