When one wears pajamas to bed, would it be tradition to wear underwear underneath them, or to go, as they say, commando?

Just because society dictates that underwear must not be worn under PJs does not mean it's wrong to do so. I think that someone wants to do that they should be allowed to and not be told they can't because no-one else does it.
