I need a weekend from my weekend- please.

Yesterday I had to go to some fancy-shancy dinner for the San Diego County's Women's Hall of Fame, put on by the Women's History Museum. I took part in nominating Ellen Browning Scripps on behalf of the La Jolla Historical Society. I couldn't eat anything. i just did a week w/ no caffeine, per dr's orders, and i'm sitting here w/ my first cup of coffee in a week. it's nice.
but it was a rough week. i started it last monday, and by saturday and sunday it wasn't so bad. before that i had headaches, fatigue, lack of focus, and leg and back cramps & stiffness.
so now i wonder if the caffeine again is going to make me jumpy and hyper. it's like being un-virginized all over again. :)
but it's good that you're plugging away at it!

I thought no coffee would be so hard, my husband and I are fanatics, we have four different coffee brewing devices and we are totally snobby about our beans too. I was really surprised that it hasn't been too hard, I even make Clay's coffee every morning while he showers and I don't feel the need to have it. I think part of it is that I am having a lot of fun trying new teas! Perhaps I will become a tea fanatic! I definitly have consistant energy throughout the day, without that post caffeine afternoon slump. Why did your doc tell you to lay off?

sounds like you are dealing with all the restrictions pretty well. i don't know if i would have an easy time doing it. i don't drink coffee but i do drink diet coke. i am trying hard to drink more water and tea. i think i will make a cup of tea right now!

Why do people get so hooked on diet coke? I can't stand the stuff, but my husband has resorted to hiding 12 packs in his car before, because he knows I will give him a hard time :)

i don't know! that's hilarious. i know its bad but i figure it's better than so many other things i could do to myself, like smoke. i will probably never totally give it up, but i would like to cut down.
