I didn't watch the Emmy's because zzzzz. I'll watch the good bits on YouTube, namely the Amy and Julia bit.
I'm really happy Parks is tackling Leslie's medium-fish-in-a-small-pond to small-fish-in-a-big-pond story! I've always really wanted them to explore how her small town passion would match up against her big time ideals. I'm looking forward to them exploring more of that this season. And I agree, the resolution was so perfect.
Oh Tom and Ann, what could have been! Their dynamic was so great this episode, it's too bad the previous execution of their storyline was so poor so as to ruin the potential of the pairing for me. Ahh well, they were really enjoyable and I'm glad their romantic relationship got nipped in the bud.
Skipping over the Doctor Who stuff because I still haven't watched any of this season, but AHHHH OH NO ELEVEN/AMY STUFF :D :D :D :'') :'') THERE AREN'T ENOUGH EMOTICONS FOr THESE FEELINGS!
Yeah, there really wasn't much of it worth watching. There was also a cute Breaking-Bad-as-sitcom bit, but it's probably funnier if you've actually see Breaking Bad. The Amy and Julia bit was the actual best. And I thought Jimmy Kimmel was kind of bad as a host, too, so... yeah

Totally agree with you re: Modern Family. Honestly I still adore that show and it's one of my feel-good shows and out of the fellow nominees, I probably like it most but shows like Parks & Rec and Community should at least be getting nods. That's the real ridiculous part (besides Two and a Half Men still being relevant obvs). Mostly I'm heartbroken about Amy.
I really need to catch up with Homeland but I was so pleasantly surprised for it!
I'm suddenly shipping Anthony and Edith hard on Downton and IDEK WHERE IT CAME FROM? I mean. It's totally my kinda ship (especially with the May/December aspect) but I guess I'm just rolling with it now? XD
I know, like... I don't mind Modern Family getting nominated (I don't think it would quite make my top 5 comedies, but it wouldn't be a terrible inclusion), and actually out of what was nominated, the only comedy I really love more is Veep, but the fact that Modern Family is just SO dominant is what really bothers me, plus, of course, the fact that Parks and Rec and Community (which definitely isn't close to perfect, but it has enough episodes that are brilliant to make it worthy of being nominated) and even like Happy Endings and Cougar Town and New Girl aren't getting nominated. And yeah, Amy not winning is definitely disappointing, but I had pretty much resigned myself to that fact as soon as I saw that Parks hadn't been nominated.
Homeland is so great, you definitely should catch up!!! I was really happy with its wins.
Anthony and Edith aren't really the type of ship I normally get into, but I think at this point I just really want Edith to find someone she loves who loves her back, and they're really sweet together!
I agree about Jake/Marley. I am already sick of that storyline and I'm sure they will drag it out forever. I don't like Will either, he's just always annoyed me. Yay for team anyone but Finn! Although I do actually like Brody, but I feel like they could've thrown in any character and I would still have preferred him over Finn.
Thank you for reminding me that New Girl is back tonight! I almost forgot.
I know, I feel like the Jake/Marley stuff has been rushed, but I also know that they're going to drag it out forever, which is going to make it really unbearable. Plus the fact that it's just already been done and I don't need to spend an extra whole season on this same storyline, even if the characters are technically different. And yeah, I would be in favor of pretty much anyone they introduced for Rachel who's not Finn, but I like Brody so far! He's kind of sweet.
No problem! I'm so happy it's finally back; those episodes were just so great!!!
Comedy was lame-o, as always. It's getting embarrassing how much better the drama categories are. I wanted Anna Gunn as well, but I'm pretty sure it'll sweep next year, once it's over for good (;_______;). That's usually how these things go. The 'miniseries' category was a mess as ever; it annoys me to NO END that AHS was put there because Ryan Murphy is too dim to plan out a second season and is therefore pretending that he always planned to revamp it entirely in S2. Like, come on, we are not that stupid. UGH. Excite for Homeland, though!
I like the idea of the ladies saving the day on Downton, but seriously, it's hardly their job and it's really awkward that Robert is doing so little. And I don't quite like M/M's attitudes about the whole thing, in a way. :P Edith & Strallan are kinda cute, but I'd like to see a little more balance to their relationship, kinda, instead of...mutual quiet pining/chasing. Though I guess it's cool the way the three sisters have such different romances.
It's weird because I feel like 5 years ago or so, I only had seen the stuff in the comedy categories and liked a lot of it, but I had never heard of anything in the drama categories, but now I've seen basically all the drama stuff and am actually pretty satisfied with how the results turned out! Anna Gunn definitely needs to win in the future because she has just been absolutely stunning. I am definitely cool with Breaking Bda sweeping all the awards!!! AMERICAN HORROR STORY BEING A "MINISERIES" IS THE ACTUAL MOST RIDICULOUS THING EVER. I'm still annoyed at that. I think I even heard that the reason they ended up doing a totally new story in season 2 was that the owners of the house in season 1 didn't want to let them use the house again in season 2? (I haven't seen the show at all so this is super secondhand and I'm not sure if that's actually true, but... it sounds plausible considering Ryan Murphy

Yeah, I figured Claire Danes would definitely win, but I thought Best Actor would go to Bryan Cranston or Jon Hamm, and while I would've been happy with either of them, too, it was a nice surprise that Damien got it! He's really just wonderful on Homeland. And I'm with you on Modern Family completely. I do still enjoy the show most of the time (there are things they do that make me cringe from time to time, and I feel like they rely on stereotypes way too often, but there's still a lot of stuff I like), but it's definitely not good enough to warrant its complete domination in the comedy category. I guess we should just be thankful all the actors submit in supporting, because if one of the ladies and one of the guys submitted for lead actor and actress, they probably would have swept all the comedy categories
