I find it pretty impossible to "take a side" with the whole Lizzie/Lydia thing for two reasons. One, as you say, that are both so clearly in the wrong. Like, clearly. So, so clearly. Lizzie's intentions were good but her approach (and her belief that because she had a problem with Lydia's behavior, Lydia should and wants to change it) were totally wrong, and Lydia handled the whole situation like a bratty child. Secondly, the whole fight is SO low stakes, I just want to tell fandom to take a chill pill. Like, going off to Vegas with friends! Making bitchy videos! These are not going to fuck anyone's life up! (Unless Lydia and Lizzie never mend fences, which Jane won't allow to happen.) It seems especially petty knowing that we know something serious is going to go down between Lydia and George which will mirror something that happened with Gigi and George.... and that will be something that has the potential to wreck Lydia's life, not a spat with her sister (of which I'm sure there have been several in the course of their relationship ( ... )

Exactly! Low stakes is such a good way to put it, because it really is. They're sisters, and the worst thing they've done to each other so far in this fight is say some hurtful things. This is not something that they're never going to get past. I mean, I understand feeling a little more sympathetic for one sister or the other (obviously I am a bit biased myself), but I don't even understand why there's this need to take sides at all. They're fictional characters; they're not going to ask us to stop talking to one of them. It's okay to like them both and also think they're both in the wrong!

I hadn't thought too much about Gigi prior to this past week, but I am definitely glad they're going the route of her having watched the videos before meeting Lizzie. It would just feel kind of... weird and underhanded in a way to me if they met and Gigi had no idea and had to find out after the fact. I can't wait to see them finally interacting!

Well said!

For me, I just think that it would make it too easy for Lizzie, you know?

I really, really liked Clara Oswin Oswald. A LOT. She definitely fit Moffat's MO in terms of personality, and I'm wary of the whole mystery wrapped in an enigma character arc she seems to have (ugh Moff don't just make her a plot device) but... she has a face? That I enjoy in proximity to Matt Smith's face?

The LBD fandom has been freaking NUTS lately lol. I mean, I love that this show is generating so much discussion and meta, but sometimes I want people to calm down with the side-taking. I'm personally a bit more on Lizzie's side of things, though I don't find Lydia unsympathetic. I think Lizzie was completely wrong in her approach - the timing and the method. Her concerns are valid (I'll get to that in a sec), but the way she delivered her whole speech made it seem that she was more worried about Lydia embarrassing herself (and embarrassing Lizzie, because of her mirroring Darcy's language). I think she would have been much better off if she had tried to frame it in a way that took into account Lydia's wants and needs - she framed ( ... )

(HAHA MY ORIGINAL COMMENT EXCEEDED THE LIMIT I'M A MONSTER)

I agree with your reading of Pat (ha! I remembered his name!). I think he started to feel better in parallel to falling in love with Tiffany, not because of it. I liked that the move wasn't really about either of them "fixing" the other. It was predictable in a lot of ways but I still really enjoyed it anyway. FEELINGS THROUGH DANCE! ALWAYS THE WAY TO MY HEART ( ... )

Clara Oswin Oswald's face in proximity to Matt Smith's face is the BEST thing, ugh. I'm way more excited for the rest of this season than I should be knowing Moffat. But, FACES ( ... )

All your Doctor Who and The Hour thoughts are my thoughts. Because I love Clara's face and I love it near Matt Smith's face, and OMG FREDDIE MY DARLING FREDDIE. I CAN'T EVEN.

ugh, right? Clara has an excellent face, and it is definitely awesome in proximity to Matt Smith's face. I'm way more excited for the rest of this season than I know I should be. AND YES, FREDDIE, UGH. IT'S BEEN LIKE WEEKS NOW SINCE THE FINALE AND I'M STILL PRETTY INCOHERENT OVER IT. I REALLY NEED THEM TO ANNOUNCE A SEASON 3 ALREADY.

I have to admit, my enthusiasm for DW was at its lowest point last year (low for me, as I still always watched). But I'm excited for the forthcoming season but am seasoned enough to TRUST NO ONE.

ugh, I completely know what you mean! I was expecting my obsession to fade at some point, but that hasn't happened yet; somehow I'm still just ridiculously into this show. AND WE GET PEMBERLEY TOMORROW ( ... )
