oh boy. where do i begin?? that's what i thought of too, do not be unequally yolked. did you tell her that one? here it is:

Try this:

Do not be yolked [the definition is this: to join in with a yoke, to attach, to join as if by yoke, to become joined or linked - Genesis 2:24: "For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife. And they will become one flesh.] together with unbelievers, for what do righteousness and wickness have in common? or what fellowship can light have with darkness? what harmony is there between Christ and Belial? what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? what agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? for we are the temple of the living God as God as said, "I will live with them, and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people." "Therefore, come out from them and be separate," says the Lord. 2 Corinthians 6:14-17

How can TWO people be God's people, if only one is following Christ? It's impossible.
