He was standing on a cliff. Slowly he walked closer, looking down the abyss. It was a weird place; he didn’t know why he was there, but he suddenly had the urge to jump. Make one step and just fall, fall for the rest of his life.
He already had one foot over the cliff, but then he felt arms wrapping themselves around his waist. He was pulled back and… was on a flower field. A soft laugher sounded next to his ear and he turned around. It was a young man, he didn’t know. He was slightly taller than him and had silky brown hair. But the man’s eyes mesmerised him; big, brown eyes he could drown in.
The man said something, but he couldn’t get what it was. He lifted his hand and stroked the man’s cheek, who broke into a fond smile. They were close, very close, looking in to each other’s eyes and suddenly those brown eyes came even closer. Slowly he leaned in until he felt the warmth of the man’s lips on his own.
He closed his eyes, enjoying the heat that built up in his chest and his fast heartbeat -The man’s arms tightly wrapped around him.

Jang Wooyoung woke up in his dark bedroom. It took him a few second to realize that it was a dream. A damn real dream that left a weird lonely feeling in his chest. He looked at his clock. 6:21. His alarm would ring in 9 minutes, anyway, so he stood up and went to the bathroom. While he showered he thought about the dream he had. He couldn’t remember everything, but what stayed in his mind made him uncomfortable.
He remembered a man, brown eyes and… a kiss. The water poured down on him and slowly turned cold, but he just stood under it, two fingers placed on his lips. Suddenly he noticed the ice cold water and quickly went out of the shower. After dressing up and eating a light breakfast Wooyoung went out, having about 30 minutes to reach his workplace.
On his way to work, he didn’t bother to look around, because he knew the route by heart. Nothing has changed since the two years he already lived here. But something caught his eyes, something didn’t fit in. He looked around and noticed a young man, standing in front of old Kang’s flower shop. The man wore a green apron with the shop’s logo and arranged some roses.
Something about the man seemed familiar to Wooyoung, but he didn’t know what, so he went across the street and approached him. “Um… Excuse me? Do you…” He caught his breath when the man turned around. It was the same brown hair, it were the same brown eyes - it was the same person; the person he saw in his dream.
“Yes?” He asked politely.
“Uh…” Wooyoung struggled for words. “Do you work here?” he bluntly asked. Like that wasn’t obvious.
“Yes.” The man smiled brightly. “My uncle’s the owner. I just moved here, so he lets me work part time.” He explained.
“Ah… That’s why.” Wooyoung muttered. The man looked at him questioningly. “It’s just, I live here for two years now and it really isn’t a big area, so I know almost everyone and you just caught my eyes… uh…” he noticed how flirty that sounded and closed his eyes briefly. “I mean, because you didn’t seem familiar.” He quickly lied.
The man chuckled. “Well… what’s your name?” he then asked. “I’m Nichkhun. Nichkhun Horvejkul.” he offered his hand.
Wooyoung took the hand and smiled. “I’m Jang Wooyoung.”
“Nice to meet you, Wooyoung sshi.” Nichkhun’s smile widened.
“Just Wooyoung’s fine.” Wooyoung smiled as well.
“Okay.” Nichkhun grinned and then suddenly turned around, just to hold a yellow gerbera in front of his face a second later. “For you.” He simply said.
Wooyoung blinked. “Oh… thanks, I guess.” He hesitated, but eventually took the flower. “But is it normal for a man to give another one a flower?” he then asked with a slight chuckle.
Nichkhun’s eyes widened for the split of a second, but then he grinned again. “In Thailand it’s normal.” He said.
Wooyoung looked confused. “Why Thailand?” he asked.
“Oh… cause I lived there until now.” The other explained.
“Really? But your Korean is so good.” Wooyoung looked a bit amazed.
Nichkhun laughed. “That’s because I’m half Thai and half Korean. My uncle is Korean as well, after all.”
Wooyoung looked at the flower shop. True, Kang sshi was definitely Korean. His gaze wandered to his watch and he gasped in surprise. “Oh shit. I’m almost late for work.” Somehow the 30 minutes he had turned into 5.
“Oh. Then you should hurry.” Wooyoung was about to leave, but Nichkhun suddenly grabbed his wrist. “Wait. Where do you live?” he asked.
“Uh…” Wooyoung looked at his watch again. 4 minutes left. If he had to explain the way to his apartment now, he would be late. “Ask your uncle; he knows.” He then said and made his way to the office.
---
The next day was a Saturday, so Wooyoung decided to sleep late. But someone didn’t let him. The door bell rang several times, before Wooyoung couldn’t take it anymore. It was damn 6 am. He stood up, dressed only in loose boxers and a tank top; his hair messed up and opened the door.
A bright smile greeted him. “Hi. I bought coffee.” Nichkhun held a paper cup in front of his face.
Wooyoung just growled and went away, but he let the door open, so the Thai stepped in. He found him in the kitchen, where Wooyoung sat on a chair, his head lying on the table. “Are you okay?” Nichkhun asked slightly worried.
“I hate you.” He heard the mumbled answer and widened his eyes.
“What? But why? What did I do?” He placed the cups on the table, before hurrying to Wooyoung. “I’m sorry. For whatever I did, I’m really sorry, I…”
Wooyoung growled again. “Stop being so damn noisy in the morning.” He looked up and to his surprise noticed that Nichkhun really seemed to panic.
“I’m really sorry. It’s just, I finally found you, but…” he interrupted himself by slapping his hand over his mouth.
Wooyoung was awake now. “What?” he looked at Nichkhun questioningly. What did he mean, ‘finally’?
Nichkhun bit his bottom lip. “Look, this will sound really weird, but I’ll have to tell you sooner or later, anyway.” He took Wooyoung’s hands, holding them tightly. The latter blushed, suddenly very aware of the fact that he had kissed this man in his dream. Still… he couldn’t break their contact; the hand and eye contact. “Actually I’m… I’m in love with you for a whole month now.” Nichkhun blurted out.
Wooyoung’s heartbeat skipped and then sped up; he felt his cheeks heating up. “Wha… but… but how is that possible? I mean we…” He couldn’t end this sentence, he was too confused. “I… I’ll go to the bathroom.” He said instead and stood up.
Nichkhun sighed, thinking that Wooyoung wanted him to leave, so he stood up as well, making his way to the apartment’s door, but he was grabbed by his wrist. When he turned around he looked exactly into Wooyoung’s glaring face. “Don’t you dare, running away now.” He just said and went away to the bathroom.
The Thai looked after him, blinking.
---
Wooyoung looked into the mirror, noticing his still flushed cheeks; his heart was racing. He dressed up as fast as he could, washed his face with ice cold water several times and leaned against his sink. Trying to calm down, he deeply inhaled and exhaled some times, then he went out. When he saw Nichkhun, who sat in his kitchen, sipping his coffee, he was about to turn around again, but pulled himself together. Looking closer at the Thai, he saw that he was nervous as well. When he heard Wooyoung’s footsteps his head jerked up, revealing a dark red face.
“Uh…” There was an awkward silence, until Wooyoung went on and sat down in front of him. “So… Explain?” he was only able to say this one word.
Nichkhun closed his eyes briefly and then looked into Wooyoung’s. “I wanted to explain it to you in a different way, but well… What would you say, if I told you that I know you for a month now?” he asked.
Wooyoung blinked. “I would say that it’s impossible, because we just know each other since yesterday.” He answered slowly.
“Exactly. But it’s the truth. I dreamed about you, Wooyoung.” The Thai took the younger’s hand again. “They seemed more like memories, but I’m pretty sure they were dreams.” He continued.
“I don’t quiet get you.” Wooyoung didn’t know what to do. He was just too confused.
“I know, I told you it would be weird. I have to tell you the beginning.” Nichkhun nervously looked at Wooyoung’s hand, he still hold, stroking it softly.
“Go on.” The younger cracked out, eyes glued to exactly this hand.
“Okay. When I was younger I never had many friends, especially not the ones you can tell everything. So I never really talked to anyone when I had a problem. A month ago, my parents had a really bad fight, which ended with their divorce and again, I never had someone to talk about it. I thought I would go crazy, but then I started dreaming. The dreams were almost completely the same; we would always just talk in my living-room and sometimes you would hug me, well… ‘I’m always there for you.’ - That’s what you told me every time, before I woke up. I fell in love with you; with your eyes, your voice and your whole character.”
He stopped shortly. “But yesterday night, when I arrived in this town and fell asleep, I knew something was different. I knew I would meet you now. It just… My heart told me and my dream did. First, it was even more real than the others and the location changed. I was near a cliff and saw you, walking towards it. I panicked and ran after you, afraid that you would jump. And you almost did.” He let out a nervous chuckle. “I wrapped my arms around you and the location suddenly changed. We were on a field, a flower field. I was laughing, because I knew I was holding you safe in my arms. You turned towards me, but you didn’t seem to recognize me. Still, you touched my cheek with one hand; it was a warm feeling.” He smiled softly, seemingly completely lost in the dream.
Wooyoung listened silently, too shocked to say something. It was as if he was told about his own dream. “We kissed.” He whispered, then blushed furiously.
Nichkhun looked surprised. “How do you know?” he asked.
“I… But that’s impossible.” Wooyoung placed his free hand over his mouth and looked down. He still knew how Nichkhun’s lips felt on his own.
“You already said that it’s impossible for me to know you, but I do. So just tell me.” The older placed one hand on his shoulder.
“I had the same dream. Yesterday night, I had the same dream.” Wooyoung looked up into his eyes. “I recognized you when I saw you in front of the flower shop. That’s why I approached you.” He admitted.
Nichkhun looked to the side, tightening the hand on Wooyoung’s shoulder. “Wooyoung?” he hesitated before he looked at the younger again. “I told you, I love you.”
Wooyoung bit his lip. “Yes, but…”
“I fell in love with you, through a dream, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not real.” The Thai let his hand float from his shoulder to his neck. Slowly he started to pull him closer.
The younger didn’t know what to do. He didn’t know what exactly he felt for Nichkhun; sure, his heart was racing like crazy, but he didn’t even know the guy. On the other side, he longed for that warm feeling he had in his chest when he kissed Nichkhun in his dream. But…
Too late. He felt the Thai’s lips touching his own and everything else blacked out. He sighed softly and closed his eyes, pushing his lips gently against the other’s. Nichkhun smiled into the kiss and deepened it a bit.
There it was; the warmth that floated through his whole body. But this was different - it was more intensive, stronger. It was real. This wasn’t a dream; it was reality and Wooyoung’s heart skipped several times, before he thought it completely stopped.
Nichkhun let his tongue slide over the younger’s bottom lip and Wooyoung willingly opened his mouth, letting him in. When he started exploring his mouth, Wooyoung’s hand clenched his shirt.
There was not doubt, he wanted this, but… he still didn’t know Nichkhun; not really at least. So he pushed him a bit away, but leaned his head against his chest. “Nichkhun…” he mumbled his name, slightly breathless because of the long kiss. The Thai pulled him into a hug. “No. No, don’t do this.” Wooyoung whispered half hearted and tried to release himself, but Nichkhun just pulled him closer.
“I love you.” He whispered into his ear, sending shudders through the younger’s body. He kissed his hair, his forehead, then his neck and his cheek. “I really love you.”
“But you don’t even know me.” Wooyoung almost whined this sentence desperately, because he wished it wasn’t true. I just felt right to lie in Nichkhun’s arms, to smell his scent.
“I know you for a month.” The older disagreed.
“And how do you know that it was real?” Wooyoung tried to free himself once again, this time less half hearted. Nichkhun moved him slightly away to look into his eyes.
“You said you had the same dream as me, that’s proving enough for me.” He tried to pull him into another kiss, but Wooyoung placed his hands on his chest to keep him in place.
“No, Nichkhun. Please, I have to think about this.” He said and stood up. “Leave for now.” He whispered softly, biting his lip. “Please.”
Nichkhun frowned, but then smiled fondly. “Alright. Take your time.” He said and stood up as well. “I don’t want to force you.” With a quick movement he pulled Wooyoung closer, pressing his lips tightly on the other’s. “Just so you won’t forget.” He smiled and made his way to the door.
Wooyoung looked after him with half closed eyes and flushed cheeks. The second, the door closed, he felt like last morning. He felt alone. He ran his hand through his hair and inhaled sharply.
What was he doing? He was alone for several years now and with Nichkhun he finally felt… complete. Why was he standing in his living-room and letting the one person go, that meant something to him? He exhaled and ran after Nichkhun out of the door, letting it open.
“Nichkhun!” he shouted his name when he saw him on the street. The Thai turned around, looking confused. But when he saw Wooyoung a smile crossed his face.
Wooyoung threw his arms around his neck, pressing their lips together, almost knocking Nichkhun down. But the Thai managed to keep his balance and closed his arms around his waist, pulling him close.
When they heard a noise, they broke apart and looked around. Wooyoung’s neighbour was looking at them with widened eyes. “Uh… good morning Mrs Lee.” The younger flashed her one of his nicest smiles and pulled Nichkhun the way back to his apartment.
A man approached Mrs Lee and looked after them. “Wasn’t that your nephew?” The old woman asked the man.
“Yes, and when I saw it right, this was our young Jang Wooyoung with him.” The man answered with a small smile.
Mrs Lee didn’t know what to say. “Well, I always told him that he needs a girlfriend, but I had a more feminine one in mind.” She chuckled slightly.
“Young love.” Nichkhun’s uncle grinned and offered a flower to the woman, just like his nephew had the day before.
---
When the door was closed and the younger turned around to say something Nichkhun didn’t let him. He just pulled him back into another hug and captured his mouth for the forth kiss this morning, sliding his tongue through his parted lips. Wooyoung would like to enjoy this feeling forever, but he needed air after all, so he pushed Nichkhun away, panting. “You want to kill me, right?” he asked with a husky voice.
“That’s the last thing I want.” The Thai answered as if he took the question seriously. “No, I want to cover every inch of your body with my lips, leave marks on places no one sees and on places everyone sees, to show the whole world that you belong to me and only to me.” He added with a low voice, getting closer to Wooyoung again. “Do you know how long I waited for this moment?”
The latter blushed a crimson colour, flustered by these words. He didn’t know what to do, so he just followed his heart and pulled Nichkhun closer, so that their lips were just inches away from each other.
“I love you.” The Thai whispered gently, pecking his lips with a smile.
This time Wooyoung smiled as well, but he didn’t answer. He still didn’t know what he felt for the older, but he knew there was something. So he just closed the distance, wrapping his arms tightly around Nichkhun’s waist.
