In which Brokentooth expounds on the unfunnies.

Perhaps there's nothing more inspirational than banality.

I can't think of another way to explain the unmitigated surreal lunacy that Jim Davis and Garfield inspire. And I continue to be amazed by the undying spirit that drives people to make this strip funnier (or, at the very least, suck less).

I like Peanuts. While I don't follow the strip religiously, I think it's really honest, has moments of sheer genius and can be surprisingly insightful at times. It's got real personality.

Randomised Garfield reminds me of the Family Guy secret (as revealed by Cartman). Heh. Even funnier because I disliked Family Guy intensely at the time...

I just looked up that episode now; I'm depressingly out of touch with South Park (and Family Guy, for that matter). Heh, indeed!

Good to hear from you. Where be you these days?

Ah, you must watch that particular episode. Hilarious stuff!

I've been in Scotland for a while recently, just back in London now. How are things going in NC?

Btw, on the subject of TV shows, I don't know if you've had the chance to watch QI, hosted by Stephen Fry. Quite excellent, and the kind of thing I expect you'd enjoy.

Oh, well judged - I absolutely love QI! And on similar lines, I'm a big fan of Have I Got News for You. I've also been listening to a whole bunch of BBC radio comedy - this is mostly what keeps me entertained these days.

NC has been good thus far. Research is interesting, and the department is great. Haven't done much exploring yet, though.
