I dream of 5/3...

You know you need help when you're catching a quick nap, and you dream that the 5/3 reversible integer wavelet transform is leaving messages on your phone ( Read more... )

Accept the baton of nerdiness, I say!

If it helps, I dream of walking through my designs, and everything magically falls into place and suddenly starts to make sense. :-)

Well, walking through designs is one thing, but getting phone calls from abstract mathematical concepts is a whole other thing ;)

But yes, I know what you mean!

Ah, you nerd, you :p

And heck, the I've given up on the femmes (or is it the other way round, I wonder). I forget - when are you leaving for home? And when are you back?

Hey - I spoke to DK, by the way :)

I know - and they especially suck when it's impacted (like it is for me). The really horrible part is that I don't have dental insurance, and it's going to cost me a bomb if I get them extracted here. Aaaaarrgh.

This is what happened: I was sleeping, and my friend was calling on my phone. That somehow got incorporated into my dream - where again, my phone was ringing, and it was this crazy wavelet transform that kept calling, even though I kept cutting the call.

Ironically, this same wavelet transform plays a rather huge role in my research. You know, this is like that benzene-Kekule thing. Gah, if only I knew what it was trying to tell me.

And sigh, where am I to find guava leaves in this desert?
