Funnily enough, just after I typed in this entry, the lab computer burst into flames. I wonder if there's a connection, wot?

My laptop crashed over the weekend too. Irrecoverably. Lost everything that I hadn't backed up since September.

I've been strangely calm and serene about it though; clinically reformatted the hard disk and reinstalled everything. Slowly bringing Firefox back to the way it used to be (bookmarks, add-ins, etc).

Oh, I admire your calmness, Gollerkeri-san. I never realised how dependent I'd become on the damn thing.

And yes, getting my bookmarks and stuff organized is going to be hell. Sigh. I feel your pain.

Oh well, I'm off to exam now; its going to be one bloody scene i'm afraid.

Actually, you know what - this one time, it's difficult to blame this on Microsoft. It's some power supply problem, I'm pretty sure it's like a wiring/short circuit thing.

And best of luck for the exam, my man. May the force be with you.

I had the exact same problem. I was sent a replacement power cord which which I couldn't collect cuz it was languishing in the mail room for 4 days on accounta Thanksgiving. Grr...

Very enjoyable post BTW.

I'm not sure if it's a cable thing, actually. My hunch is it's more an internal thing, since it doesn't work on the battery either.

And while the post might be enjoyable (thanks, by the way), the week sure as heck wasn't!

Yes, definitely nightmare.

And not to worry, Mr. 75cc - the comics are safe. I back up the (ahem) really important stuff. It's depressing to suddenly realise where my priorities lie :(
