Nice. My little brother used to get mad when the dog would laugh at him for missing a duck, and he'd try to shoot the dog. It never bothered him that you couldn't actually do it.

You could shoot the dog during the actual hunt though. He'd end up black-faced (muzzled?) and tattered if you did shoot him. :)

Hm, I don't think so... he tried just about everything!
Wikipedia says you could in the Vs. version, but not in the NES version we had. I guess that explains it.

You can, however, shoot the dog in the NES game "Barker Bill's Trick Shooting". I think I have it here.
