Drag Me To Hell

All I'm going to say about this movie is: If you're going to see a horror movie this decade, this is IT. I've seen a number of so called "Horror" movies that rely on shock, cheap gore and things hiding in the dark. This is not to say that "Drag Me" doesn't, but every cliche is performed with such savoir-faire that it'll all feel new and fresh. ( Read more... )

To me though, after the cat scene, most of the empathy for the main character goes flying out of the window and it reallllllllllllly took away from the movie. Here in Texas, supposed land of non-"bleeding hearts", half the theatre let out a collective boo.

That and I was expecting more fights like the one in the beginning, but they seemed to taper off which sucked as the one in the car was a very good one and reminiscent of the quality of Evil Dead films hehe.

Most reviews I've seen have echoed your comments. I'm not a huge horror film person, but I do like them now and again, so I think I'll have to put this on the "see" list.

I guess I liked it overall, but I was put off by the number of cheap jump scares and the obvious twist ending that was telegraphed way too early.
