LAG, in my family, genealogy is a full-contact sport. Sheets of laminated paper validating a person’s existence lie stacked and ready to wow inside of a series of 5-inch binders. Stories leak from my grandmother’s mouth about people at least seven generations back, what they did for a living, what hardships were found in their lives, and for what ( Read more... )

Tried calling yesterday (Sunday), but I didn't get through. I'll try again until I do.

If you do get this before I'm able to get through--
Graduation is June 10th, 2004 at 7:00 PM. Tell me if you're able to make it, please? You're the one I want there the most. I miss you.

How do you have the energy to do this, Nadya?

At the moment, I'm in paper hell and end of term hell.

This why I haven't been present recently.

Things don't have to be this way...catch me on another day.

Well, it's for a ceremony coming up at the end of the month... and it was due the day I posted this. I knew about it a month in advance, but instead of get a heads up like I should, I put it off until the due date, when I got a nice phone call from my supervisor: "Courtney (nadya), where the hell is your presentation? IMA wants it in by business close, today. bye."

and so I sat down, cranked out the above, and hoped for the best.
I've gotten a lot of feedback, so I'm still tinkering, but yes. It's done.

no energy-- just determination. Good luck with your papers, Kevin!

Bravo. I'm envious of how motivated and in love with life you are. Looks like I'll be moving into the territory of linguistics as well. Bravo Courtney. Ciao.

You've made the decision to go for languages? Awesome. I think you'll do well at it, and have a good time.

The only reason I'm in love with life as I have it is because I've switched worlds and taken the best from both, realizing where I stand and what I'm thankful for. With what you've told me, I think you are heading down that way, too. I have faith in you.
