Well, seems the backlight is working in odd spurts.  It wants to work right, then goes to torch mode.  There’s no UI controls for it, so I assume there’s something, somewhere, on the board that needs tweaking.  I’ve yet to make a call on it yet, so I dunno if the mic works.  It also totally died on battery power middle of last night (I took it off
