I may not be leaving my job after all. I've been hearing that the Armed Forces will pay for the recruit's half of the rent, and maybe even his part of the bills. Not sure if this is true or not -- Chris will be calling them on Tuesday to ask many questions -- but if it is, it just makes way more sense for me to stay here and keep working. Which ( Read more... )

I hope it's true, although it sucks that you have to stay at your job. Since you would have found a new job if you moved in with your parents anyway, maybe you could still take that leap from here?

well they said if i had to finish up a lease, that they would finish paying for me, till the lease was out. so yea see how it is , where you are not considered commion law yet, they will conisder you roommates and if his name is al so on the lease they will most likely pay for his half of the rent will he is gone. so that would be good.

Yeah, we're going to look into it, and let them know that we plan to be married before he swears in, if that makes any difference. But the thing I worry about is that this is a month-to-month lease, so does that qualify as something he has to pay for, when technically he could put in the notice and we could be out of here before he goes... We'll see. So many questions...

Maybe... but it's very hard to find something that pays as much as I make now ($12.93 per hour) that I am qualified to do -- I've been looking. The only thing that comes close are the many call centre jobs, which I would hate doing and they pay three or four dollars less. :( Oh, well. I just don't have marketable skills. i'd love to have a receptionist's job at a doctor's office, or dentist's, or even like you do at a vet. But I don't have the skills they're looking for, like the know-how to work certain computer programs, or the experience they ALWAYS require. Nah, I'll probably just stay where I am now until the end of March and then see what happens after that. Thanks for your sympathies. :)
