Weirdly we had such a similar day at my school. We declared the Friday Harry Potter day and the entire sixth form dressed up in brilliant costumes. Unfortunately, the teachers were highly pissed off, but when we pointed out that while the dress code does include skirt length, it doesn't include robes. So that was fun.
And yes! Harry Potter was so good. Dobby's speech before he died had tears in my eyes, and my friend was sobbing next to me. I can't wait for the next one, but I don't think I can watch Fred dying without screaming in agony so... (Normally I just pretend that it doesn't happen, but that'll be hard when it's right in front of me...)
Awesome! Our teachers are pretty cool about us dressing up (as long as it's for charity) and stuff, we've already had one pyjama day, two dress up days and one "suit up" day, although the suit up one was 99% boys. That is a good point about the robes!
I was teary the first time; when I saw it the second time, with my family, I was in floods. It's only the second time I've cried at a movie in the cinema, the first being Harry Potter 4 when Cedric died. (For some reason I am good at holding back my tears in the cinema but not when I'm watching things at home :L)
Yes! A friend and I were talking about how Fred is going to be the worst thing ever! Even worse than Snape, and I am properly in love with Snape, but then his death isn't particularly sad... it's tragic, because no-one finds out about his true colours until after his death, but it's not the sort of sad which makes me cry. I can't believe JK killed Fred off though, no-one dislikes the twins!
