So... this was the Big Wild Goose Pagoda... named that way for reasons I do not know, which we also visited whilst in Xi'an. It was our last day in Xi'an, a day which involved making noodles, shopping, visiting the pagoda and being kept awake all night by teachers laughing in the room next door to ours on the night train, because they caught a girl and one of our friends, JD (our two closest guy friends on the trip had the initials DJ and JD, so we knew them by those names for the duration) , together in one of the beds in our cabin. And that's not even the sort of thing we could get them back for without invoking some serious wrath.
The Pagoda is part of a Buddhist Monastery, and it was all fairly accessible, a lot of it was not very different to Western Temples, ignoring the occasional bit of writing or random lion statue, in that it was predominantly graveyards, all very stone and tree like. The buildings themselves were pretty similar to all the other ancient Chinese Buildings we saw. These were built in the 7th century, I think.
That is all I remember, so... the picture.
Unrelated note; I just tried the "detect location" button for the first time... it seems that as far as LJ is concerned I live in Coventry, which is interesting, as I have never been to the West Midlands in my life. /pointless point.
