fun with technical difficulties...

My apologies for taking so long with the pictures. I couldn't get the damned CD to work. Ah, the joys of technical ineptitude!

There aren't a lot of places in the pictures, as this trip was more about getting to see family that I hadn't seen in a long time.

This is a much more current picture of me. Not bad, considering that it was taken by a first grader. Maybe I should use this as another avatar. Or do a progressive moving icon. This one needs to be lightened first, though. Cookie to anyone who wants to try it.

The person on the right side of the frame is my Grandma Paula. She's my mom's stepmother, which is why she looks only in her midfifties. She is probably one of the coolest members of my family.

On the left is Diane. She's one of my favorite people in the world, and the person from whom I learned to treat a hug like an open-field tackle. I could tell a million stories about her, but I'm already taking up enough space behind the cut with the pictures.

Diane has three daughters, but the only one I was able to catch on film was her middle daughter, Amy. RaeAnne (the oldest) wasn't there that night, and Danielle (the youngest) hid every time I pointed the camera in her direction. Amy is still the same chatterbox that she was when I was living in Denver.

This is my Aunt Sally (She's actually my second cousin). I ran into her and her oldest daughter, Jessica at about 104th and Huron. Apparently, I can't go anywhere in Denver without tripping over either a Graf of a Washburn. It was just as well anyway, as they'd moved two blocks over from where they lived when I was living in Northglenn.

I didn't get a picture of Jessica, since she was getting ready to go to class, but when I brought out the camera, her girls went nuts.

The one kneeling at the front is Dominique, and the one hiding in the back is Mackenzie. Both are lively, smart girls.

Left to right: Joe (Grandma Paula's boyfriend), me, Great Aunt Stacey, Kate (Uncle Jon's girlfriend), Jon, Great Uncle Rich. This was the night that we went up to Central City to gamble. That was cool and weird at the same time, because I remember going to both Central City and Blackhawk in 4th grade for Colorado History field trips. Back then, they were nothing but ghost towns.

I'll be nice and leave out the obligatory shot of Invesco at Mile High (If you weren't born and raised a third generation Broncos fan, you wouldn't understand anyway). I really did have a blast, even though I didn't get to see nearly as much family as I would have liked to.
