THREE DOWN, ONE TO GO. orz

Yellow Turban Rebellion (Xiahou Dun)

Guard: Speak to the person with the red mark above their head to begin the battle. Here, that person is Lord Cao Cao.

Cao Ren: The Imperial Court is too corrupt to do anything about the chaos...

Xiahou Yuan: Ahh, Cousin Dun, I don't know how our lord puts up with it.
It's like the Imperial Army doesn't show us any respect.
Xiahou Dun: Leave it be. Cao Cao isn't concerned with such trivial matters.

Xiahou Yuan: They keep running their mouths though. Who do they think they are?

Private: It's his first battle. His teeth have been chattering for hours!

Private: I'm not afraid... I'm not! I'm just cold...

He Jin: You new recruits are to serve in my battalion. Understood?

Private: Where did I put it? I know it's here somewhere...

Private: What kind of soldier loses his weapon just before a big battle! You'd better find it, fast!

Kong Rong: We must show the Yellow Turbans how mighty we truly are! Zhang Jiao must die!

Private: Good girl... We'll be relying on you out there.

Guard: You're a cousin of Lord Cao Cao, yes? I once met Cao Chun - he's our lord's cousin too.

Lieutenant: Come on, you weaklings! Put your back into it!

Private: Those Yellow Turbans... I hear they use the black arts!
Private: The black arts?! They'll slaughter us alive!
Private: Yeah! Uh... What are the black arts?

Zhu Jun: You got lucky in that last battle. Don't get ideas above your station.

Zhu Jun: Are you still here? I've got better things to do than waste my time talking to you.

Huangfu Song: The black arts! Pah! It's all just sleight of hand!

Cao Cao: This chaos is the perfect opportunity to embark on our quest to conquer the land.
Xiahou Dun: I know that as well as anybody.
Cao Cao: Come, let us go.

Dong Zhuo's Trap (Cao Cao)

Private: Lord Dong Zhou's power knows no bounds - he's even roped in Cao Cao!

Private: Lord Dong Zhuo's frightening, sure... But he's got nothing on Lord Lu Bu!

Private: The last guy who tried to mess with Lord Dong Zhuo... Oh, I can't even say it!

Private: Nobody messes with Lord Dong Zhuo!

Private: I can never get this right - Yuan Tan is Yuan Shao's oldest son, right?

Guard: Just how long do you plan on keeping our lord waiting?

Guard: So you're the one resisting our lord. I hear you also have close ties with Yuan Shao.
However, not even you can stop him. You'll surely be put to death!

Guard: What are you doing just standing there? Don't keep our lord waiting!

Handmaiden: Oh, I fear you too will be bitten by Dong Zhuo's venomous fangs, my lord!

Dong Zhuo: So you're Cao Cao... You made quite a name for yourself at the Yellow Turban Rebellion.
I can tell you have potential. Which is why you should come serve me!
Cao Cao: What do you mean by that?
Dong Zhuo: Slaughter all who oppose us! Help me create a land in my image!
Cao Cao: And what kind of land would that be?
Dong Zhuo: Isn't it obvious? A land filled with food, wine and women!
My very own personal paradise! Gwahaha!
Cao Cao: I see... A very admirable goal indeed.
However, there is no room in such a world for any other than yourself. I have no inclination to serve another.
Dong Zhuo: Hmph! You are a fool! You give me no choice but to put you to death as well!

Elimination of Dong Zhuo (Xiahou Yuan)

Ji Ling: I hear Lord Cao Cao and Lord Yuan Shao are old friends, but Lord Yuan Shao's much more famous now!

Private: I have to make a name for myself in this battle. I've got a family to feed, you know.

Private: It's so cold...

Lieutenant: You've got to keep moving! In this cold, you have to stay warm, or you'll pull a muscle!

Private: I hear Cao Ang was born to Lord Cao Cao and Lady Liu, before her unfortunate death.

Private: Wow... Look at all these famous warriors! So, who are you?

Cao Cao: Xiahou Yuan, did you happen to see the people on your way here?
People fleeing with the last of their earthly possessions... The scarred rice fields...

Cao Cao: Things are not finished just because we defeated Dong Zhuo. The chaos will continue until we can plant the lasting roots of peace.
(As noted in the Shu compilation...probably a tense mix-up in translation.)

Xiahou Yuan: Quite the crew we've gathered here, wouldn't you say, Cousin?
Xiahou Dun: I guess. I'm not fond of crowds.
Xiahou Yuan: Hah... You always have to go and ruin my fun.

Xiahou Dun: You should try and relax for once. It might do you some good.

Private: Dong Zhuo's rampage has destroyed this whole area. I don't even have a house to go home too.
(Grammatical fuck-up is there in-game, yes.)

Private: Dong Zhuo's the puppet master behind the Emperor, right? Then it's time to cut those strings!

Dian Wei: Hm? Can I help you with something?
Xiahou Yuan: Wow, you're like some kind of tough guy or something!
Dian Wei: There's something not quite right with you, isn't there...

Dian Wei: I wish the battle would start already... My skills will begin to fade if I don't see some action.

Private: Look, it's Dian Wei! Don't catch his eye - he's dangerous!

Liu Bei: The people are suffering at the hands of Dong Zhuo. We must defeat him in order to save them!

Private: I'm with you all the way, Lord Liu Bei! You're our hero!

Sun Jian: I will fight to protect every last member of our family and our clan.
Therefore, I refuse to accept defeat in this coming battle.

Sun Jian: For the sake of my family, I will fight. Yet, it may not be so simple...

Private: We are with you, Lord Sun Jian! Together we can overcome anything!

Private: Yuan Shao's got a real glow to him... An aura, even!

Private: Lord Yuan Shao intends to take this opportunity to unite the land. I'd follow him, too!

Yuan Shao: Rest assured, we are fighting for the most righteous of causes!
Fear not! Step forth and be proud! For to battle we march!

Battle of Yan Province (Dian Wei)

Private: So, do you shave that head, or...? Never mind, forget I asked!

Dian Wei: To think that I would be made his bodyguard... You don't have a problem with that?
Cao Ren: If our lord has accepted you, then I am not one to question him.

Cao Ren: As long as you continue to keep him safe, of course.

Lieutenant: No one can break down Lord Cao Ren's defenses. You could learn a thing or two from him.

Lieutenant: I see what Lord Xiahou Dun saw in you - you look plenty tough!

Private: We have to wipe out the last of the Yellow Turbans? I hate playing the bad guy...

Corporal: Lord Xiahou Yuan has high hopes for you. Don't you let him down!

Private: Have you been to the Weapons Dealer? He's got some crazy stuff there.

Major: So you're the new bodyguard, huh? Good luck - you're gonna need it!

Major: Don't underestimate the enemy just because they're peasants! Even a rat can be dangerous when cornered.

Corporal: This is Lord Cao Cao's chance to stake a claim to unite the land. He'd be a wonderful leader!

Private: Lord Xiahou Yuan and Lord Xiahou Dun are cousins, don't you know? They don't look much alike, though.

Private: Did you know that Lord Cao Ren is related to Lord Cao Cao? You did? Oh... Well, good.

Private: Even with Dong Zhuo gone, things are still bad. I only hope Lord Cao Cao can do something...

Private: Zhang Liang of the Yellow Turbans calls himself the General of the People.
Private: He's probably just copying his older brothers - they were the General of Heaven and the General of the Land.
Private: But they were no match for us!

Guard: I hear there's a giant in Yan Province. You and he might make a good match.

Xiahou Dun: Dian Wei, I am entrusting you with our lord's safety.

Xiahou Yuan: Protecting our lord is no easy task. Good luck with that!

Cao Cao: Let's go, Dian Wei. I am curious to see your ability as my bodyguard.
Dian Wei: At once, general! Err, I mean, my lord!

Battle of Xu Province (Xu Zhu)

Guard: Lord Cao Cao has turned this wasteland into rich, fertile fields. We won't starve this year.

Cao Ren: Hmm... I wonder how we should proceed.

Private: Don't get me wrong, Tao Qian's no pushover... But I thought there was someone tougher round these parts.

Private: Look at Lord Dian Wei! He can't wait to get out there and fight. I just want to go home...

Private: Cheng Yu is an old friend of our lord's.

Cheng Yu: Lord Xiahou Dun is guarding Yan Province. It would take some doing to topple it.

Private: So you're in our lord's bodyguard corps... Good luck, you're going to need it!

Private: You have a son, don't you, my lord? What was his name? Ah, yes, Xu Yi.

Lieutenant: Our lord has complete faith in Lord Xiahou Dun. Oh, and in you bodyguards too!

Private: Lord Cao Cao has given us fields of our own!
Private: We won't forget this, Lord Cao Cao!
Private: We'll fight for him until the very last!
Private: We'll show them the pride of the men of Qing Province!

Private: Lord Cao Cao is the future of this land. I know it.

Xun Yu: Ever since you two joined his army, our lord's been taking so many risks... Not that I'm blaming you!

Private: Have you had enough to eat? I don't want you to get hungry half way through the battle again!

Dian Wei: What's wrong with the enemy? Why don't they make their move?
I hate just waiting around and doing nothing.

Xu Zhu: What is your plan, my lord? Seek to bring a quick end to the battle?
Cao Cao: Hmm...
Xiahou Yuan: My lord! I have urgent news! It's Yan Province... It's...
Cousin Dun has fallen at Yan Province!
Cao Cao: What?!
Xiahou Yuan: I'm not sure where he came from, but that scoundrel Lu Bu attacked out of nowhere...
Cao Cao: Xiahou Yuan...
Xiahou Yuan: Yes, my lord!
Cao Cao: I want you to take a unit and head for Yan Province and search for survivors.
Xiahou Yuan: At once, my lord.
Cao Cao: Dian Wei. Xu Zhu.
I am counting on you to protect me. We must move quickly to eliminate the Tao Qian Army.
Xu Zhu: Understood, my lord!
Dian Wei: Leave it to us!

Battle of Wan Castle (Dian Wei)

Zhang Xiu: I am relieved my surrender was accepted. You have my gratitude, my lord.
This is a modest little banquet we're having, but you're welcome to join us.

Huche'er: You want something, friend?

Private: I don't trust that Jia Xu. He's just got one of those suspicious faces.

Private: That Zhang Xiu's a real cheapskate. Us ordinary soldiers don't get a thing!

Handmaiden: Eat up, eat up! This is a special treat!

Private: I feel bad eating this when our allies outside are starving...

Cao Anmin: Hardly anybody is allowed inside the castle. Not even Xiahou Dun or Xu Zhu are here.
Even uncle is without his weapon. I hope nothing bad happens...

Cao Cao: Hmm... I did not expect him to surrender so easily.

Handmaiden: Look at him... He's so rugged and manly... Oh, you didn't hear that, did you?!

Private: You used to serve Zhang Miao, didn't you, my lord?

Private: Who was a better ruler - him or Lord Cao Cao?

Private: That looks good! Can I get some of that too?

Jia Xu: So you're Cao Cao's bodyguard... I must say, you look pretty tough.
Dian Wei: Grrrrrrr...
Jia Xu: Ahahaha... So scary! Perhaps my compliment offended you?

Jia Xu: The war is over. Come, let us enjoy this fine banquet in celebration!

Dian Wei: Is this all of the troops we have stationed here?
Zhang Xiu: Forgive me. We do not have enough food for all of the rank-and-file soldiers...
While we would've liked to have invited everybody, the war has stretched our provisions to the limit.
Dian Wei: I see... In that case, I will wait outside as well.

Battle of Wan Castle (Cao Cao)

Xiahou Dun: Cao Cao! You're okay!
Cao Cao: So it would seem...
Xiahou Dun: The men are ready to march on your orders.

Private: Is it true, my lord, that you said Liu Biao's sons were nothing but pigs and dogs? Hehe.

Guard: Lord Cao Cao! I'm so glad you're safe!

Xiahou Yuan: My lord... We must seek our revenge in this battle.
Jia Xu will pay for his treachery. I will slay him with my own hands!

Private: We must put those evil miscreants to the sword!

Private: We still have hope, my lord!

Private: Lord Dian Wei was so good to all of us... We must avenge him!

Lieutenant: We must march at once, my lord! Our forces are ready!

Li Dian: I still cannot believe that Dian Wei is gone...
We must avenge him by any means necessary!

Yue Jin: Jia Xu is renowned for his ability as a strategist.
The road ahead is bound to be difficult. We must approach with caution.

Yue Jin: For those that have given their lives, we must win this battle!

Private: Lord Dian Wei was courageous to the very end...

Xu Zhu: Dian Wei wouldn't want us to sit around mourning him.
He'd say our time would be better spent helping Lord Cao Cao.
Cao Cao: Urgh...

Xu Zhu: We will protect Lord Cao Cao with our lives if necessary!

Cao Cao: Come, Xiahou Dun. Follow me.
Xiahou Dun: Cousin...

Battle of Xiapi (Xiahou Dun)

Private: Lord Cao Cao's interested in Lord Guan Yu now... They say he wants him for his army.

Private: So that's Liu Bei, the one who was fooled by Lu Bu. Yes, he looks like a gormless idiot.

Private: Hey, you hear about Lu Bu's woman? They say he killed Dong Zhuo just to get her!

Xiahou Yuan: I never thought our lord would offer to help Liu Bei...
Xiahou Dun: Cao Cao's clearly planning something. He would never help another without there being something in it for him.

Guo Jia: The enemy army has taken up position in the castle. We must find some way of luring them out...

Major: We are ready to face even the mighty Lu Bu if we must!

Private: Ohh... Can we practice running away instead?

Private: I've seen Lu Bu fight - we'll be killed with one blow!

Private: Hey, if I can meet this beautiful woman of Lu Bu's, I'll take my chances!

Private: I-It's Lu Bu! Oh, don't mind me. I was just practicing my frightened look. What do you think?

Lieutenant: Lord Guo Jia is a brilliant strategist for one so young. I see why he came with such high recommendations.
Lieutenant: Yes, our lord is truly blessed with talent all around him. I wish he'd get rid of that Jia Xu though...
Our lord moves in mysterious ways.

Private: Did you hear about Lord Cao Cao's doctor? He had a radical treatment for his headaches.
Private: What did he want to do to our lord?
Private: He wanted to cut his head open. He's in prison now, naturally.

Private: I had heard about Zhang Fei, but until I saw him myself, I never knew just how frightening he was!

Private: Lord Cao Cao wishes to place Lord Liu Bei in his debt, it seems...

Private: I wouldn't mind using a different weapon for a change. All we get are these spears and swords...

Private: I wish I could grow a beard like Guan Yu's... Mine just ends up all straggly.

Guan Yu: I hear that Lu Bu's officer, Zhang Liao, is a man of honor. We must act accordingly.

Zhang Fei: You're gonna pay for stealing our brother's land! Everybody, no one touches Lu Bu except for me!

Liu Bei: Lord Cao Cao, I thank you for helping me recapture Xu Province.
Cao Cao: Lu Bu is an enemy to us all. It was something I would have done with or without you.
Liu Bei: In any case, I am grateful for your assistance.
Cao Cao: I do not engage in actions that do not provide me with some benefit. This battle was the perfect opportunity for me to obtain valuable officers...
For example... Somebody like the honorable Guan Yu...
Liu Bei: I...
Cao Cao: Well, it is about time I move out. Everybody, we march!

Battle of Guandu (Cao Pi)

Jia Xu: Lord Cao Cao is the perfect bait. We can lure out the enemy at both Baima and Yanjin.
As he makes his advance up the middle, we'll strike both places at the same time.
Then we can squeeze the enemy in the center between us.
Cao Pi: I see... You look to divide and isolate the enemy forces.
Jia Xu: Precisely!
Our lord and I will attack from Yanjin. Master Guan Yu, you take Baima.
Guan Yu: Understood.
Cao Pi: Very well. Jia Xu, show me the intellect you are famous for.

Cao Cao: The winner of this battle will control the Central Plains. If we can get past their massive army, that is...
Cao Pi: Father, don't tell me you're afraid.
Cao Cao: I am being used as bait. Clearly, I am not afraid of Yuan Shao.

Cao Cao: The era in which the nobility can rule the land is over. Even he himself knows it to be true.

Xiahou Dun: Cousin...

Jia Xu: Willing to use your father as a decoy... You're quite a piece of work.

Guan Yu: Brother... I hope you are okay...

Private: Lord Cao Cao looks happy...

Private: I don't trust that Guan Yu... You can't just switch sides that easily.

Lieutenant: Yuan Shao and our lord were old friends... I wonder where it all went wrong.

Private: Yuan Shao's army is supposed to have an officer of unparalleled elegance. But what kind of warrior wants to be elegant?

Private: You remember how Hou Cheng defected to us at Xiapi?

Private: Well, they say it was because Lu Bu whipped him for sending him spirits to drink!

Zhang Liao: The enemy numbers are immense. And surely they will have even more reinforcements lying in wait.
However, though we may be outnumbered, we possess the superior skill.
If everybody gives their all, then we are sure to emerge victorious.

Private: Lord Zhang Liao has become one of us now. It's hard to believe he used to work for Lu Bu.

Private: Using our lord as a decoy... I've never heard of such an audacious plan.

Private: Lord Jia Xu is certainly... interesting, is he not?

Lieutenant: Momentum is with our lord. If he can repel Yuan Shao, total domination may be close at hand.

Cao Pi: Begin the march; before the enemy reinforcements can arrive.
Guard: Understood!

Battle of Guandu, part 2 (Cao Pi)

Guard: When Lord Jia Xu's thinking of a plan, he looks so manipulative and nasty... He scares me, to be honest.

Zhang Liao: The strength of Guan Yu is amazing. To think that such warriors exist outside the realm of fantasy...

Private: Lord Zhang Liao is a devotee of Lord Guan Yu. He says we could all learn much from him.

Private: I hear Chen Lin wrote a slanderous letter about your father, my lord. How terrible!

Private: My lord, I dabble in divination, and I must tell you - you will have a life-changing encounter today.

Cao Cao: It seems that the strategy is in place. At last, I can see an end to this battle.
Cao Pi: Hmm... Never did I expect that you would trust that man so implicitly.
Cao Cao: I need to make use of him. If only for Dian Wei's sake.

Guan Yu: I cannot look past the suffering of one to whom I am obligated. I must fight for Lord Cao Cao.

Private: Lord Guan Yu is nice to have on our side, but he doesn't seem very glad to be here.

Lieutenant: I hear Lord Xu You used to work for Yuan Shao. They say he wasn't much use.
Lieutenant: He'll be useful this time. We can always dump him once he's served his purpose.

Jia Xu: With an army that size, it must be difficult to keep them fed.
Xu You will lead us to their supply depot. If we burn it to the ground, then victory is as good as ours.
Xu You: The supply depot is located at Wuchao. It is possible to get them to open the gate...
But we will need to make the necessary preparations. Please give me some time!
Cao Pi: Very well. I shall go and buy you the time you need.

Battle of Chibi (Xu Zhu)

Xu Zhu: Dian Wei, Lord Cao Cao is amazing. He's nearly conquered the land.
And when he does, we'll have all the rice fields we can tend. I hope you'll look down and bless our crop.
But, I have a bad feeling about things...

Jia Xu: We have a decided advantage over the enemy. However, battles are won on more than just troops alone.
The enemy possesses the renowned strategists Zhuge Liang and Zhou Yu. I wonder what they're plotting...

Private: Lord Cao Pi manages to exude an aura of serenity, even amidst this excitement.

Cao Pi: So Liu Bei and Sun Quan have joined forces... Even rats will fight back against the cat when cornered. We must proceed with caution.

Cao Zhi: Why didn't they just surrender? They can't possibly think they can win!

Private: I saw you fight against Gao Lan at Guandu, my lord. They say it was a draw, but you were much stronger!

Lieutenant: Sun Quan is still young. No doubt he's run into this battle without thinking it through.

Private: You heard what he said! Stay calm at all times!

Xu Huang: By keeping one's spirit calm, any obstacle can be overcome.

Private: Lord Cao Cao's land will soon be a reality, and I'll be able to go home at last!

Dong Zhao: Those fools - why would they fight a battle they have no chance of winning?

Lieutenant: Lord Xu Huang is the perfect warrior. He is strong, and yet he is always looking to better himself.

Private: When our lord seizes control of the land, everything will be different! But I don't suppose I'll be able to relax...

Cao Cao: If we win this battle, my ambition will be realized. Xu Zhu, make sure that no harm befalls me.
Xu Zhu: My pleasure, Lord Cao Cao. Leave it to me!

Battle of Chibi (Cao Cao)

Xu Zhu: My lord, you must escape to safety!
We'll stay here and hold off anybody that tries to pursue you.
Cao Cao: Hmm...
Xu Zhu: It's okay.
We can take care of ourselves! It's you that our forces can't do without!

Xu Zhu: We'll hold them off. Quickly! You must flee!

Lieutenant: I hate to leave Lord Xu Zhu behind, but I guess we have no choice!

Private: I don't know if we can get away.

Private: How could this have happened? It's all over!

Private: I hope everyone is safe... No, for now, my focus must be on Lord Cao Cao!

Guard: This is not the end for you, my lord! I still have faith!

Guard: Your Hungry Tigers strategy to keep Liu Bei and Lu Bu apart was a brilliant idea, my lord.
Guard: A pity it didn't work...

Jia Xu: The enemy pursuit forces are nearly upon us. We must leave at once.
Cao Cao: Very well, let's go.

Battle of Tong Gate (Jia Xu)

Cao Cao: Jia Xu. Tell me, what strategy have you devised for us?
Jia Xu: We will strike them head-on. Although it may appear foolish...
The enemy is filled with people from Guanzhong. Until recently, they were all mortal enemies of each other.
Cao Cao: You mean to destroy them from within?
Jia Xu: Precisely. I have heard that you and the enemy general Han Sui are old acquaintances.
Cao Cao: So you are in need of my assistance for your plan. Very well.
Jia Xu: Excellent, Lord Cao Cao! Now, if you will.

Cao Cao: To think he would use my past friendships to our advantage. He is not one to be underestimated.

Xiahou Yuan: I figured they were nothing but a bunch of puny farmers, but they're much stronger than I thought.

Xu Zhu: Those guys are sure proving to be a lot of trouble.
Jia Xu: Hahaha... You are exactly right, my rotund friend. How should we deal with those meddlesome cavalry units...?

Private: Poor Xu Zhu. With Dian Wei gone, he has to protect our lord all by himself.

Cao Ren: Ma Chao is much stronger than I expected. He has truly earned every bit of his reputation.
Jia Xu: Our forces' morale is continuing to wane... We are in quite a predicament.
Cao Ren: Hmm... I wonder how we should proceed.

Private: It's too cold here... I wish we could head south.

Zhang He: I hear that one of the enemy is described as "splendid". I do look forward to meeting him.
Jia Xu: You are a strange one, aren't you.

Private: Lord Zhang He says General Xiahou Yuan is the most beautiful... Strange idea of beauty, if you ask me.

Private: You used to work for Zhang Xiu, right? I'm glad you're with us now.

Lieutenant: Han Sui and our lord are old friends? How would you know, outsider?

Private: You really do look happiest when you're thinking of a strategy.

Lieutenant: The General is worn out. You're the strategist, why don't you come up with a plan?!
...I'm sorry. I'm just having a bad day.

Lieutenant: I'm sick of fighting. I haven't had a day off in months!

Private: They say nothing good comes from revenge, but that's exactly where Ma Chao's energy comes from!

Private: Ma Chao's at his strongest on horseback. We have to get him to ground level with the rest of us.

Private: I had no idea Ma Chao's men were so strong. It's almost as if they're trained for this.

Jia Xu: The time is nearly upon us. Let us make our move.
Guard: Understood!

Battle of Hefei (Zhang Liao)

Private: Lord Zhang Liao's might will be spoken of for generations to come!

Guard: I was afraid of Wu's numbers, but now I believe we can win this battle!

Private: Did you see the face on that guy before? Terrifying!

Zhang Hu: If we didn't attack their vanguard, we would've been finished. Everyone, we are alive thanks to my father's bravery!

Man Chong: Surely Sun Quan is swelling with pride at commanding such a large army. Taking advantage of that will be the key to our victory.

Guard: One day Lord Zhang Hu will be a warrior as mighty as his father. The future is bright indeed!

Private: My lord, I hear you have served many different leaders.
Private: Yes, they say Ding Yuan was your first. Is that true?

Private: Wu's ranks are filled with mighty officers, and they probably have more up their sleeve.

Jiang Ji: I fear we are testing our luck too much. I only hope it will hold.

Private: We may be few in number, but we are expertly trained. Isn't that right, my lord?

Private: Only you can keep Hefei safe, my lord! We are behind you all the way!

Li Dian: The enemy is underestimating us due to our inferior numbers. What if we were to use a decoy to lure out Sun Quan?
Yue Jin: Indeed... I volunteer myself for this mission.
Li Dian: And I shall be the one to seal off the escape route.
Zhang Liao: Then I shall be the one to deliver his head to our lord!
This plan hinges on our cooperation. I am counting on you all!

Battle of Mt. Dingjun (Zhang He)

Cao Cao: So Xiahou Yuan has fallen...
Zhang He: My lord, I eagerly await your order to attack.
Cao Cao: Very well. Cut open a path to Mt. Tiandang and secure our escape route.
Xiahou Dun: What?! Cao Cao... What did you just say?!
Cao Cao: We shall withdraw from this battle. It is pointless for us to try and reclaim what we have lost.
Xiahou Dun: But what about avenging Yuan's death?!
Cao Cao: Go, Zhang He.
Zhang He: As you command!

Zhang He: My lord...
Cao Cao: I'm counting on you. Don't let me down.

Xiahou Dun: Yuan...
Urgh! Cao Cao, why?!

Sima Yi: The enemy has the momentum. Even the taking of Mt. Tiandang will prove to be difficult.
We must secure the escape route as quickly as possible. There is no time to be wasted on seeking revenge.

Private: I just don't know what to say to Lord Xiahou Dun.

Lieutenant: Our men are in a state of shock. Lord Sima Yi's calm detachment is just what is needed.

Private: I feel bad for young Xiahou Ba. He has lost his father.
He said something like, "I can't just wallow in grief," and took up his battle position already.

Lieutenant: If only his bow hadn't broken... What accursed luck!

Private: My lord, we must avenge the General!

Lieutenant: I hope Lord Guo Huai is alright. He seemed to take the news very hard.

Private: Does our lord intend to just abandon Hanzhong? Then the General will have died in vain!

Private: Do you remember when Wang Ping used to serve Lord Xu Huang? That was before everything went wrong...

Private: General... General... Oh, I know it must be even worse for you, my lord.

Private: This pallor of doom... It reminds me of the time Dian Wei died.

Private: General... How can our lord stay so calm at a time like this?!

Private: Maintain focus at all times - that's my mantra!

Zhang He: Everyone, prepare to move out!
Guard: Understood!
Zhang He: General... I hope that you will watch over me in this battle.

Battle of Fan Castle (Xiahou Dun)

Sima Yi: Guan Yu will not be expecting Wu's betrayal. It will surely have a large impact on Shu's morale.

Private: Lord Sima Yi is wise beyond his years. He will lead Wei to future glory!

Xu Shang: Shu is desperate... They're probably calling for reinforcements as we speak.

Man Chong: Impressive, Lord Xiahou Dun! I know our lord will be most pleased with your efforts!
Xiahou Dun: No... For there is still much left that needs to be done.
I must have my revenge... Or else Cao Cao will never be able to rest.

Guard: Lord Man Chong is a wily veteran of battle. His cunning will be invaluable in keeping the castle safe.

Private: Will this rain ever stop?

Private: The water has receded. I'm so glad; I can't swim!

Xu Huang: I am sorry to have kept you waiting. I appreciate your patience.

Guard: Lord Xu Huang's presence fills me with renewed confidence.

Lu Jian: Wu is as fickle as the autumn sky. At Chibi, they sided with Liu Bei.
Zhao Yan: Well, I'm glad of it now. It gives us a chance to kill Guan Yu.

Niu Jin: I know how you feel, my lord, but we really should let Wu chase after Guan Yu...

Private: You are the only one who can claim Guan Yu's head, my lord. You have our undying support!

Private: We have had enough grief for one lifetime. You must come back safely, my lord.

Private: I'm sure Lord Cao Cao knows how you feel, my lord.

Private: You know who I liked? Man Chong. He was the one who convinced Lord Xu Huang to join us.

Private: I heard Lord Cao Cao is unwell. Victory will be the best medicine for him!

Guard: I feel safe beside Lord Cao Ren. He's like a big shield, protecting us all.

Cao Ren: Finally, the water levels have subsided.
Sima Yi: Guan Yu has broken through our siege and begun his escape. However, it is too dangerous for us to give chase.
We simply need to leave the pursuit up to Wu so we can focus on strengthening the defenses at Fan Castle.
Xiahou Dun: No... If anybody is to slay Guan Yu, it is to be me.
Cao Ren: Very well. Then I wish you luck, my friend.
