canon dump: camp dialogue, wu story mode.

May 26, 2011 21:47

DONE. I...may go collect the NPC dialogue from Conquest Mode, but I don't know if I actually feel motivated enough and I can't remember if anybody says anything worth hearing (most of the good stuff is available in the voice gallery anyway...).

Wu dialogue is pretty useless to my choice of character. Somebody go app from it so my hard work doesn't go to waste. :V

Yellow Turban Rebellion (Sun Jian)

Guard: Speak to the person with the red mark above their head to begin the battle. Here, that person is Lady Sun Shang Xiang.

Guard: Lady Shang Xiang grows more beautiful every day. I hear she's quite the warrior too.

Sun Quan: So the leader of the Yellow Turbans is here... We must take this opportunity to slay him and bring an end to the chaos.
Sun Jian: Hmm...

Guard: There's something about Lord Sun Quan that endears him to people. He's a lucky man, in a way.

Huang Gai: My lord, please forgive my tardiness. You were most impressive out there in battle.
Sun Jian: Only because of the efforts of my son and everybody else. Hah... Children grow up so fast...
Huang Gai: You're telling me! When you've been around as long as I have, you see quite a few kids grow up on the battlefield.
Sun Jian: Nonsense. You're as strong and capable as any of my officers. I'm counting on you greatly.

Huang Gai: According to rumors, the leader of the Yellow Turbans is some kind of sorcerer. We must be careful out there.

Private: I'm so glad Lord Huang Gai is with us. He always calls himself an old man, but have you seen the size of his arms?
I wish I was as strong as him, that's for sure.

Private: Lord Zhu Jun is acting confident, but look closely, and you'll see the fear in his eyes.

Zhu Jun: I see why you are known as the Tiger of Jiangdong. A most impressive display of skill.
The leader of the Yellow Turbans, Zhang Jiao, is out there somewhere. I'll need your help.
Sun Jian: Yes, my lord!

Lieutenant: Come on, you lily-livered cowards! Make yourselves useful for once!

Private: The Imperial Army is full of arrogant buffoons. It's no wonder they face rebellions all the time.

Private: I wonder how my family's doing without me...

Private: My daughter spends her whole time trying to be like Lady Shang Xiang! I'm really worried!

Private: Did you know our lord rose to fame when he was just seventeen?
Private: Seventeen? What did he do?
Private: They say he fought off and killed a whole band of pirates!
Private: Wow! What a man!

Private: We should have started training earlier... Not that it's your fault, or anything.

Huangfu Song: A family outing, huh? How nice for you all.

He Jin: What do you want? Get out there and deal with the Yellow Turbans!

Kong Rong: Hey, country boy! Go back to your farm before you get yourself killed, huh?

Guard: Lord Sun Ce has energy to burn. The future of Wu is bright with him at the helm.

Sun Ce: Father, let's get moving! I don't want to fall behind!

Sun Shang Xiang: What is it, father?
Sun Jian: Nothing... I was just hoping that we don't come across any trouble.
Sun Shang Xiang: Father?
Sun Jian: Never mind. It's time we got going, my daughter.

Conquest of Liang Province (Sun Ce)

Sun Jian: Lord Dong Zhuo, I am yours to command.
Dong Zhuo: You're late! My army is exhausted because of you!
How are we supposed to win the war like this? That's it. You're leading the charge in the next battle!
Sun Jian: Yes, my lord!
Dong Zhuo: Hmph!

Dong Zhuo: What are you doing?! Get out there and fight!

Guard: I'm so cold... I need to eat something. I suppose Lord Dong Zhuo has his own reserves to rely upon.

Li Jue: Lord Sun Ce, I apologize for the behavior of my lord. Please, will you help us?

Han Dang: With these never-ending skirmishes, the court must be losing its grip on the land.

Cheng Pu: Dong Zhuo should have got off his fat behind and done the job himself!

Private: What chance does a poor infantryman have against the enemy cavalry?

Private: I have to stay strong! I will survive!

Private: My lord, they say that your brother has blue eyes and a red beard!
Corporal: Nonsense! I've seen him. He has nothing of the sort.
Private: Oh, so that's just one of those military legends, I guess.

Private: Lord Dong Zhou's in a foul mood. None of the women in the capital came with him...

Guard: You seem agitated, my lord. Oh, believe me, I understand your pain.

Private: Yes! Lord Sun Jian's finally here! Now we won't have to fight!

Private: ...Uh, nothing, nothing. Forget you heard anything.

Zhu Zhi: I can't believe the Imperial Court would stand up for such an animal...

Guard: If Dong Zhuo gets anywhere near our lady, I'll run him through with this spear, don't you worry!

Sun Shang Xiang: Who does he think he is?! Walking around with all that arrogance!

Private: My lord, why are we doing this? Why must we follow that animal's orders?

Guard: Lord Sun Quan has such respect for his brother. It's wonderful to see.

Sun Quan: It is said that the people of Liang are proficient with horses. If our enemy is to be mounted on cavalry, we could be in trouble.
Sun Ce: I don't care who the enemy is! Just let me out there so I can smash some heads!
Sun Quan: That's my brother. I know I can always count on you.

Sun Ce: Everything that swine says is nothing but lies! He just doesn't want to lose his own troops!
Therefore there's no way we're getting any of the glory. I can't stand to fight alongside that guy!
Sun Jian: My son, take that anger and channel it towards the rebels.
Our only concern is to put a stop to this rebellion. If we do so, then it will also cause Dong Zhuo to lose face.
Sun Ce: I see... You're right. Okay, let's go, Father!

Ou Xing's Rebellion (Sun Quan)

Sun Shang Xiang: Hey Quan, it's nice to see you smile for a change.
Sun Quan: Well, it's thanks to you and Huang Gai.

Huang Gai: There's something not quite right with this battle...
Sun Quan: How so?
Huang Gai: The enemy numbers seem too small. Hopefully, it's nothing...
Sun Quan: Very well, we'll keep an eye out for anything suspicious.

Private: I wish I had a sister like that...

Private: Hey, concentrate on the battle ahead. If I can't look at her, nor can you!

Private: Oh look, it's our lady's lady-in-waiting! I can't take my eyes off her!

Lian Shi: Umm... Did I do something wrong?
Sun Quan: No, not at all. It's nothing. Forget it.

Lian Shi: What's the matter?

Corporal: We seem to spend our lives fighting the rebels. I guess it's because our lord is so powerful...

Guard: Have you visited the Weapons Dealer, my lord? He may have something just right for you.

Guard: If you are ready to fight, you should go and speak to our lord.

Private: Lord Huang Gai's muscles are so... What I mean is, I'd like to be like that!

Lieutenant: I hear the Ten Eunuchs have all the power in the capital.
Lieutenant: Yes, I hear they ordered this dispatch.
Lieutenant: It may not be long before the Han is ruined.

Private: My lord, is it true what they say about your drinking habits? That you are not to be trusted when drunk?
Private: Ssh, you'll make him angry!

Private: I hear Ou Xing started this rebellion!
Private: But he's a pirate! He'll be even more trouble than the Yellow Turbans.
Private: Well, our lord will know what to do, don't you worry!

Cheng Pu: Lord Sun Ce is a shining example to us all. While he's around we're all in safe hands!

Sun Ce: If we defeat Ou Xing, Father will be famous! Come on, Quan! Try and keep up!
Sun Quan: Right, Brother!

Zhu Zhi: No one looks out for their children more than Lord Sun Jian. He is a paragon of virtue!

Wu Jing: If Sun Jian can suppress the rebellion, his fame will grow still greater!

Sun Jian: Have you made the necessary preparations?
Sun Quan: Yes, Father. I'll do my best to assist you out there!
Sun Jian: Excellent. Now, let us begin the march!

Elimination of Dong Zhuo (Sun Jian)

Private: Speaking of Lord Sun Quan, I hear he's fallen in love with a beautiful woman!
It's just a rumor, mind you...

Private: Lord Sun Quan is so kind and considerate... He even listens to us little people.

Sun Quan: Lu Bu and Hua Xiong are two of the fiercest warriors in the land. If we face them head on, we may not make it out alive.

Sun Jian: Ce, you and your sister be careful out there.
Sun Shang Xiang: Hey, what about Quan?
Sun Jian: Hahaha...

Sun Shang Xiang: Don't worry, Father. I can take care of myself out there.

Sun Ce: This is quite a crew that's been assembled here.
We have been charged with the vanguard in this battle. That must mean that Father finally has their respect!
I always knew Father had it in him!

Private: Your daughter grows stronger every day, my lord!

Private: Lord Sun Ce burns with a righteous passion! I just wish he could melt some of this snow.

Private: A splendid title you were granted, my lord.
Private: General who Destroys Insurgents - most fitting!

Guard: I followed you here out of loyalty, my lord, but...
This is the front line, isn't it? I had no idea...

Guard: It's time to pay Dong Zhuo back for all his cruelty! We must slay him, my lord!

Corporal: Come, men! We are the finest Lord Sun Jian's Army has to offer! Show no fear!

Private: It's all very well for him - we'll be the ones who die first!

Private: I wouldn't be afraid if I were fighting ordinary men - but the enemy are monsters!

Private: I hear Lu Bu rides a blood-red horse the size of an elephant! Some even say it breathes fire!

Private: Our supplies are running low. If we don't make a move soon, we'll all starve.
Private: I think I'll go lie down for a while. It's the only way to fight the hunger.

Corporal: We fear no one! We are the elite forces of Lord Sun Jian's Army!

Private: The captain's a positive thinker, but we have to face reality!

Private: We fear no one... Except Lu Bu, and Hua Xiong... Oh, and Dong Zhuo!

Guard: It's so cold... I'm not used to this northern weather.

Sun Jian: Come, the vanguard of an army can't afford to be late. We must begin the march.
Guard: Understood!

Battle of Jing Province (Sun Ce)

Private: I wish I could get a glimpse of the imperial seal. I bet it shines like nothing else!

Private: Lord Sun Jian was splendid at Hulao Gate, with that red scarf on his head!

Huang Gai: I understand your frustration, my boy. But please put yourself in your father's place for a moment.
It is just as difficult for him to be in such a situation.

Private: The whole atmosphere is tense; everyone seems on edge. I wonder what can have happened.

Private: We don't need Yuan Shu's help. Our lord can unite this land alone!
...Perhaps I'm being naive. I just hate this depressing atmosphere.

Lieutenant: Lord Sun Jian is loyal to the Han. He has no designs on becoming emperor himself.

Private: I'm worried about our lord. He seems lost in thought.

Private: The seal is a sign? Then our lord will soon be Emperor!

Lieutenant: Forced by Yuan Shu to attack Liu Biao... Our lord must be in turmoil.

Lieutenant: The castle holds the key to this battle... How are we going to take it down?

Private: They say there are monsters in Liu Biao's army. They roar like animals, they say...
Private: I don't even want to think about them!

Private: Your sister was lamenting, my lord, that you and your father are always arguing.
Private: What happened? You all used to get along so well.

Lieutenant: I hear rumor of a grizzled veteran in the enemy ranks, who is a mighty bowman.

Private: Interested in a new weapon, sir? A change is as good as a holiday.

Sun Ce: Father has the strength, and he is destined to lead. Why is he forced to serve the likes of Yuan Shu?!
Surely you all think the same way?
Sun Shang Xiang: Brother! Don't say anything you'll regret later!
Father is trying to help save the Han. That is why he has the Imperial Seal!
Sun Quan: He said so himself, he is not looking to use the chaos to seize power.
He would rather use his strength to help the people; those that are in need of assistance.
Sun Ce: Well, I can't accept that!

Sun Shang Xiang: Try not to give Father such a hard time.

Sun Quan: Fear not, for like always, he has a plan. We must simply trust him for the time being.

Sun Ce: Father's much more powerful than either Yuan Shao or Yuan Shu! And now he has the Imperial Seal! It must be a sign!
So why are we simply being treated like low-level servants of Yuan Shu's?!
Sun Jian: Ce... I...
Sun Ce: I know you're strong, Father! So why don't you take a level of responsibility worthy of your skills?!
Sun Jian: We shall talk about that once the battle is over. For now, let us focus on the task at hand.
Now, let's get going.
Sun Ce: Ugh!

Battle of Shouchun (Sun Shang Xiang)

Cao Cao: Sun Ce, there is something I wish to ask you.
Sun Ce: Yeah? What can I do for you?
Cao Cao: Yuan Shu is holed up inside his castle. First, we must break down the castle gates.
So, I would like your army to attack the western gate.
Zhou Yu: Understood. Please leave it to us.
Cao Cao: Excellent. I am counting on you.

Cao Cao: It must have been difficult for Sun Ce to accept my request.
Yuan Shu is the protector of the Sun family. I would have thought it difficult for them to attack him.

Liu Bei: So you're the daughter of Sun Jian. I have heard much about you.
Sun Shang Xiang: I hope it wasn't anything embarrassing...
Well, let's talk about that later. Now, let us speak of the plan to defeat Yuan Shu.
Liu Bei: Hahahaha... I can see that your beauty hides the spirit of a true warrior.
Sun Shang Xiang: Hahaha... Why, thank you. I don't think I could receive a nicer compliment.

Liu Bei: I have heard much about your abilities in battle. I would very much like to see them for myself.

Sun Ce: Hey sis, did you pay a visit to Liu Bei?

Sun Quan: Come, Shang Xiang. We must make for the western gate and aid our brother.

Sun Shang Xiang: Hey, Zhou Yu. Is it true that Ce is really going to kill Yuan Shu?
Zhou Yu: It is an order from the Emperor himself. A loyal servant of the Han has no choice but to follow the orders he is given.
Your brother's decision is the correct one. There is no need to concern yourself over the matter.

Private: I heard Cao Cao say that Yuan Shu was like a rotting skeleton in a graveyard!

Private: Lord Sun Ce has grown to be a great man. He loses nothing even beside the great men of those other mighty families!

Private: We mustn't bring shame to our lord! We must shine more brightly than any army out there!

Private: If I can help my lord in any way, then I will be happy.

Private: Come on, boys! Train harder!

Lieutenant: I couldn't believe it when Yuan Shu took the mantle of emperor. It's amazing how much a little seal can change things.
I finally understand why our lord was so troubled.

Private: I wonder how Lord Liu Bei and Lord Cao Cao like fighting together. They don't exactly look like the best of friends...

Lieutenant: The orders have finally been given to take down Yuan Shu. I'm looking forward to seeing him beg for his life!

Xiahou Dun: The one known as Zhou Yu seems to be quite capable.

Private: Lord Xiahou Dun has the complete trust of his lord and his men.

Lieutenant: So that is Zhou Yu. He's very pretty, isn't he?

Corporal: Thrust! Sweep! We must prove the might of Cao Cao's Army!

Private: The captain's always trying to make a good impression.

Sun Shang Xiang: We haven't time to waste! To battle!
Guard: Understood!

Battle of Xiakou (Sun Quan)

Lian Shi: Go on, go and talk to everybody. They've all been worried about you, you know.

Sun Shang Xiang: I too, am sad about Ce... But lamenting his death won't bring him back.
That's why I'm going to do my best to help you.
Sun Quan: I appreciate your kindness.

Sun Shang Xiang: Cheer up, Brother.

Taishi Ci: I owe my life to Lord Sun Ce. However, before I could repay that debt, he was taken from this earth.
That is why I shall serve you in his stead. I figure that is the best way I can honor my debts.

Taishi Ci: And I know that he will be watching over us in this battle.

Lieutenant: Our lady is so strong. Even in the hardest of times, she is looking to move forward.

Private: Huang Zu is a weakling, but he can be cunning too. I am worried he may have something up his sleeve.

Private: It must have come as a great shock to Lord Taishi Ci to lose our lord...

Corporal: If we can claim victory today, the tides of this war will change. I know it!

Corporal: Alone, you are nothing. Together, we can overcome any obstacle!

Private: We'll keep our lord safe!

Private: Yes, sir!

Private: It was Cheng Pu who told Lord Sun Jian that the seal was real, yes? I feel that changed everything.

Corporal: We still have many promising officers: the courageous Taishi Ci, the brilliant Zhou Yu...

Huang Gai: Master... No, I believe I should be calling you Lord from now on.
Sun Quan: Huang Gai...
Huang Gai: We shall give our lives in your name, my lord. Now, let us go and avenge your father's death!

Private: You are the third leader we've had in such a short time. Please, stay alive, my lord.
Major: Forgive him, my lord. He is young, and insensitive.

Private: Look at her... Ohh, I could watch her all day.
Private: She and I used to be close, but I let her go... For the greater good, you know.
Uh, my lord! You didn't hear that, did you?

Ling Tong: My father served under Huang Zu... Until he was killed by a man named Gan Ning.
He is sure to participate in this battle. And when I find him, he will pay for what he did!
Sun Quan: Ling Tong...

Ling Tong: If nothing else, I will kill him with my own hands!

Private: Lord Ling Tong acts aloof, but his loyalty to Wu is the match of anyone!

Private: I saw the man who killed Lord Ling Tong's father. I'd like to avenge him, but, you know...

Lieutenant: Everyone's been really down since Xuchang. This is our chance to get everyone on their feet again!

Private: How about a new weapon, my lord? He has anything you could ever wish to fight with - and then some.

Zhou Yu: You look relieved. It is almost like you're a different person.
Everybody, begin the march! We shall slay Huang Zu and avenge our lord's death!

Battle of Chibi (Zhou Yu)

Zhou Yu: The location of this battle will prove fortuitous to our forces. It suits our superior naval skills perfectly.
Zhuge Liang: In addition, Cao Cao's large navy will not be able to freely navigate the narrow river banks.
Zhou Yu: We can use that to our advantage by setting their ships on fire. Doing so will easily eliminate the numerical disadvantage we face.
However, the winds this time of year blow from the north. Even if we light the fires, they will simply spread back upon us.
Zhuge Liang: The winds from the southeast will blow. You can count on it.
Zhou Yu: Very well... Although I am not entirely sure about this, without the fire attack, we stand no chance of victory.

Sun Quan: If we are to protect the kingdom that Father and Brother left us with, we must prevent Cao Cao from advancing any further south!

Lieutenant: Cao Cao's army is enormous! Even with Liu Bei's army, we are no match for them!

Private: Lord Sun Quan has changed so much. Now he has the bearing of a true ruler!

Lieutenant: Naval battles may be our specialty, but that enemy fleet is so vast it'll be no different to being on land.

Private: I know we have to fight, but looking at that enemy fleet... I can feel my energy slipping away.

Private: Do you really think we can win? I was confident, but I'm not so sure anymore...

Private: It's... It's Cao Cao's navy... It's so massive... And they're headed this way!
Zhou Yu: Yes, we are severely outnumbered. Are you afraid?
Private: N-No, sir! We trust you, Lord Zhou Yu!

Private: Please, give us your orders!

Private: This is my first time in such a large-scale battle... I'm shaking like a leaf!

Private: If I make it out of this battle alive, I'm going to do things differently from now on!

Zhou Yu: The outcome of this battle depends entirely on our fire attack.
If the winds do not change... Huang Gai, the rest is up to you.
Huang Gai: Leave it to me!
I will see to it that Cao Cao's navy drowns in a sea of flames!

Private: Lord Huang Gai looks as happy as I've seen him in a long time!

Private: Lord Zhuge Liang looks so calm. It's hard to tell if he has any emotions at all.

Guard: We will keep Lord Zhuge Liang safe. He must be able to focus on executing his plan.

Private: I get terribly seasick. I'm really worried about fighting on the sea.

Private: My lord, why did Lord Cheng Pu not attend the pre-battle meeting?
Private: He claims he was ill... But I think he was faking it!
Private: They say he doesn't like you, my lord...

Private: Lord Zhuge Liang is no ordinary man. We must have faith!

Private: Cao Cao is ruthless. Even if we surrender, he will show no mercy.

Zhou Yu: Everybody, begin the march!
Guard: Understood!
Zhou Yu: Sun Ce... Please lend me your strength.

Battle of Nanjun (Gan Ning)

Gan Ning: How's it look, Ding Feng?
Ding Feng: The enemy is holed up in the castle and taking a defensive position. It will be most difficult to attack from head on.
Additionally, it appears that Liu Bei's army has also set up camp there.
Gan Ning: Huh? What's that all about? Is he planning to fight alongside us?
Zhou Yu: No, we do not have such an arrangement. Zhuge Liang, what are you plotting?

Gan Ning: You're quite a strange one, aren't you. Despite that tough exterior, you're all soft on the inside.
Ding Feng: What could be more soothing to the soul than beautiful scenery? Perhaps you would like to join me sometime?
Gan Ning: The two of us? Uhh, no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Ding Feng: Very well then. Suit yourself.

Ding Feng: I can't wait to go and look at the beautiful flowers again.

Private: Ouch! Maybe I should move further away...

Private: Our lady is prettier than ever. They say love does that to a woman. I wonder...

Private: Poor Lord Zhou Yu. His worries just keep on mounting.

Private: What is Liu Bei's army doing? Those parasites!

Private: He's so dark and mysterious. I wish I could be more like him.
Everyone says I should be my own man, but I'm hardly going to inspire future generations, am I?

Private: Lord Zhou Tai is like our lord's shadow. You never notice him, but he's always there.

Zhou Tai: I fight on behalf of Lord Sun Quan.

Lieutenant: Cao Ren is a man of honor, and a mighty warrior. He will be hard to break.

Private: The enemy general Cao Ren is renowned for his defensive abilities. It will not be easy to break through his guard.

Private: I don't think Lord Zhou Yu likes Zhuge Liang much. I can't say I blame him...
Private: Lord Zhou Yu is so upstanding and righteous, and Zhuge Liang just seems devious and nasty.

Private: Lord Lu Dai is exactly the same age as Liu Bei, yet he's just getting started as a leader.

Private: You know, Ding Feng's something of a poet. I hope he doesn't start reading us any - I don't think I could keep a straight face.

Private: Hey there, Ding Feng! Don't you go letting our man Gan Ning down!

Private: We triumphed together at Chibi, but this behavior just leaves a sour taste.

Lieutenant: That's Lord Ding Feng... I wouldn't like to get on his wrong side!

Private: I hate the dark...

Sun Shang Xiang: So Liu Bei is here as well. It would be nice to be able to see him again...

Zhou Yu: First, we must take out the surrounding bases and then we can concentrate on the castle.
Do not let down your guard. We must be wary of Cao Cao and Liu Bei as well.
Gan Ning: Alright! Finally, I get to see some action!

Battle of Hefei (Ling Tong)

Gan Ning: Taishi Ci is dead... This is all that's left of us. You and I can't afford to be fighting amongst ourselves anymore.
Ling Tong: Haa...
Gan Ning: Ling Tong... You go and protect our lord. And I'll do what I can to protect the both of you.
Ling Tong: Hmph... There you go again, trying to act all tough.

Gan Ning: Our lord, you, the old man... I refuse to let anybody else die!

Private: It's at times like this that Lord Lu Meng comes into his own - a true man of culture and might.
He's wonderful!

Sun Quan: Taishi Ci... Forgive me.
Ling Tong: We must escape from here. If something happens to you, Taishi Ci's death will have been in vain.
Sun Quan: You're right.

Private: It must be hard for our lord. It's our task to support him in his hour of need.

Private: We're with you, Brother!

Private: No one can stop you!

Private: Hey, you! You leave our man Gan Ning alone, y'hear?

Lieutenant: For as much as you act like enemies, you and Lord Gan Ning work really well together!
Lieutenant: Hahaha... Don't push him. He's a grumpy sort.

Private: Have you got your goose feather, my lord? We're supposed to wear them, so we know who our allies are.

Private: Ah, it's Zhang Liao! ...No, I'm just practicing for when he shows up.

Lieutenant: Lord Gan Ning is a valuable member of our army. We have to accept a certain amount of undesirable behavior from him.

Private: Zhang Liao is just terrifying! Where does he get that strength?

Private: Ah, what a waste that was.

Private: Lord Taishi Ci may be satisfied. After all, he was able to repay his debt to Lord Sun Ce.

Lieutenant: It always helps to have a rival. A bit of friendly competition gets the best out of you.

Private: The enemy has the momentum; I'm not sure we can turn the tide.

Lu Meng: Ling Tong, we can no longer afford to let you be driven simply by your emotions.
Ling Tong: I know. What we do sets an example for the rest of the men.
Lu Meng: There is no need to be overly critical of yourself. However, you know what you must do.
Ling Tong: Yeah, yeah... I need to work together with Gan Ning to protect our lord.
Lu Meng: Okay then. Now, let's get going.

Battle of Fan Castle (Lu Xun)

Private: I remember Lady Shang Xiang's wedding to Liu Bei. Ah, it was beautiful...
Although it was rather spoiled when the go-between Lu Fan tried to kill Liu Bei.

Lu Fan: Liu Bei is married to our lord's sister...
This must be a difficult battle for him to fight.

Private: Lord Lu Fan was a favorite of our late lord. Now that our lord is gone, he is more vital to our cause than ever.

Private: How many sons does Lord Guan Yu have again?

Private: Lord Yu Fan there is quite the academic. And I hear he knows a little about divination too.

Yu Fan: There are rumors of discontent within the men of Guan Yu's camp. If we play this right, we might be able to weaken the enemy forces.

Lieutenant: Our lord tried to avoid war with a strategic marriage, but it was all in vain.

Private: This rain just never stops. It's enough to break your spirit.

Lu Xun: I still can't believe it. That our lord would betray Liu Bei and side with Cao Cao...
Lu Meng: We cannot allow Shu to gain any extra momentum. So Wu and Wei must join forces in order to even out the balance of power.
Our lord is ruled by his emotions. Surely it must have been a difficult decision for him to make.
Lu Xun: Our lord would even sacrifice his own principles in order to protect Wu...
Lu Meng: Precisely, Lu Xun. That is why we must go and prevent his efforts from being for naught.

Battle of Fan Castle (Lu Meng)

Lu Xun: Guan Yu is nowhere to be found. He must have withdrawn from the battlefield.
Lu Meng: Wherever he is, he won't get away from us.
Lu Xun: Our debt to Wei has been paid. Why must we still attack Guan Yu?
Lu Meng: Jing is an important strategic location. Possessing it will lead to stability for Wu.
Lu Xun: But if we attack Guan Yu, then surely Liu Bei will seek to retaliate...
Lu Meng: When that time comes, Lu Xun, it will be up to you to defend Wu.
Lu Xun: Lord Lu Meng?

Lu Xun: Guan Yu is known as the God of War. It is going to take all we have to overcome him.

Major: Lord Lu Xun has grown so much. He reminds me of a young Lord Lu Meng.

Lieutenant: Reinforcements could be on their way. We can't afford to let up.

Private: When this battle's over, will you teach me?
I never had much education, but I want to be a strategist one day.

Corporal: The young soldiers look up to you, my lord. They are the future of this army.

Private: Lord Gan Ning's always surrounded by those rowdy pirates. Not that I'm complaining...

Lieutenant: I am a warrior! A little rain won't perturb me!
Ah-choo!

Private: I just wish this rain would stop.

Private: Someone should cover up that drum - the rain will ruin it.

Private: I can't imagine how our lady is feeling...

Gan Ning: Are you okay, old man? You look a little tired.
Lu Meng: You're just imagining things... Besides, I'm not that old.
Gan Ning: Well, if you say so...

Gan Ning: We're all counting on you, you know.

Private: Hey, you're looking a little pale. Actually, it's kind of hard to tell behind that beard.
Corporal: Hey, show some respect, man! Our man Gan Ning is the one who'll pay for your rudeness.
Private: Sorry, grandpa!
Corporal: Just stop talking, will you?

Private: How are we supposed to stop Guan Yu? I mean, this is the God of War, you know?

Private: I heard our lord praise you and Jiang Qin for your academic enthusiasm, my lord. Congratulations!

Lu Meng: We will slay Guan Yu and claim Jing in the name of Wu! All units, advance!
Guard: Understood!

Battle of Yiling (Lu Xun)

Major: Lord Zhu Ran is gruff, but he is not a bad man.
Please treat him with understanding.

Private: Do you see that man over there? He's an old school friend of our lord's, you know.

Zhu Ran: I don't understand what our lord is thinking. Why would he entrust our fates to somebody so inexperienced?

Zhu Ran: I'll say this... You've still got a long way to go before you earn my trust.

Private: My lord, I heard a rumor that you changed your name.
They say you were once called Lu Yi. Is this true?

Lieutenant: Liu Bei has lost his cool - now is our chance to pummel him!

Private: This time we will win! We all have faith!

Private: We have beaten the God of War! What have we to fear?!

Ling Tong: Okay, I suppose I can believe in you. And our lord has faith in you, so I suppose we should too.

Private: Lord Gan Ning and Lord Ling Tong seem to be good friends now.
I even saw them playing Go the other day - of course, they spent the whole time accusing each other of cheating, but still...

Private: Do you see this horse's coat? See how shiny it is? Lady Lian Shi looks after it.
When the princess was still here, they looked after the horses together...

Han Dang: Lord Sun Quan has grown into such a great leader, and now there are still more young warriors coming through.

Ma Zhong: I was once as young and idealistic as them...

Private: Our lord is so lucky. I wish I could see a little more of Lady Lian Shi.

Sun Quan: Just go out there and do as you see fit. I have faith in your abilities as a strategist.
Lu Xun: Yes, my lord! I shall personally deliver victory in this battle to you!

Lian Shi: My lord... Princess... It must be so hard on you both.
It seems that such tragedies are destined to be a result of the chaos.

Lian Shi: I feel so bad for the both of them.

Private: Liu Bei doesn't seem so benevolent to me - fighting a war because of personal grievances.

Private: Is the Princess ever going to return to us? She should just leave that husband of hers.

Gan Ning: You've got some courage, kid. I think I like you.

Lu Xun: The preparations for battle are complete. We march to victory!
Guard: Understood!
Lu Xun: Lord Lu Meng... I shall protect the future of our kingdom!
