Liz had been watching the door nervously from a stool at the counter. She saw Maz before he saw her and stood up. She wore a light purple skirt with a pale blue one shoulder tank top and sandals. She smiled at him as he approached. Her stomach was full of butterflies at just the sight of him. "Hey."

"Hey," Max greeted, a smile slipping over his face at the sight of Liz. "You look nice. Are you ready to go?"

"Yeah." Liz nodded and tucked her hair behind her ears, bowing her head. "You look nice too, I mean handsome."

Max ducked his head, visibly blushing. "Thanks," he said after a moment. He hesitated then put his hand to the small of her back, guiding her out of the diner toward his jeep. "Uhm...I can put the top on if you want," he offered with a nod to the jeep.

Max grinned again and stood up, meeting Liz half way on her way back to him. "Don't forget me when you go on the pro circuit," he deadpanned.

"I'm much better at pool." Liz said, sitting down to watch Max. "Laugh all you want at my bowling technique."

"I've never played pool," Max said as he picked up his ugly orange bowling ball. He aimed it then threw it down the bowling lane. It curved wildly near the end and ended up in the gutter. He turned around and shrugged. "I told you I was bad."

He could have used his powers to keep the ball going straight but that wasn't any fun.

"As good as I am." Liz said, her gaze staying on Max.
