Since yesterday at dawn (when I was awakened by the loudest and longest thunder clap I have ever heard), there have been (at least) four distinct thunder-lightening-and-pouring-rain storms, with periods of charged grey-fog-and-too-white-light in between. Like this (not taken by me):

One of the only natural sources of ozone I think yes?

Ignoring this person's gross icon I saw the story about the art snails and thought of you. I can't exactly tell how bad this might be for the snails.
