Hey those of you who know about these things, do you have any suggestions of methods to speed up recovery from pulled/strained/torn muscles? Last night I crashed while biking (in Finland! will stories about it later) and I did something to my shoulder/upper arm that makes it pretty painful to use the arm to carry any weight or to lift it ( Read more... )

Yeah, I guess I don't really have that much information that will help, since most of the stuff I know is in regards to swelling (elevation, ibuprofen, and ice), but I think whatever you can do to immobilize it/ keep from doing what hurts will help. Also, if you can get people to (gently) massage the surrounding muscle areas or if its in a position you can do it yourself, that will probably help (my mom says doing that for her pinched nerve has the same effect as muscle relaxants).
