Dont do it. I know countless people that were miserable at Brooklyn College. Their Film Program is completely and utterly antiquated. Their TV/R program is no better. Though I have no experience transferring in, from those I spoke too at my time there that DID transfer it was a nightmare. Run....run as far as you can. Going to Brooklyn College will be the biggest mistake of your life.

I was in the TV/R program and my friend was a Film Major. You're a freshmen now, but 2 or 3 years from now you wont be singing the same tune. Take my word for it.

I'll agree with Arthur when he says that the technology offered by BC film department is hopelessly out of touch. I took film studies at BC and the offering were great, lecturing was top notch and the professors were incredibly knowledgable. Of course, a studies degree preps you for fim criticism or teaching, not production.

If you want to go into production my suggestion is actually pretty out of the box. How many credits do you already have? My suggestion is to transfer to Kingsborough! Yes, you heard me.

The Broadcast Management and Technology has facets of all those things. Professor Acosta teaches two awesome AVID Courses and a Pro-tools course as well. There are also plenty of production courses in a Real TV Studio.

It's just top notch. I really wish it was a 4 year school.

If you want to be a film critic, go to Brooklyn. If you want to learn some real skills and talent, go to Kingsborough before moving on elsewhere.
