#750: Fichte's Vocation of Man

The Vocation of Man
Johann Fichte

You don't really expect me to remember what this was about, do you?* I remember Fichte as an anti-semite and a dude who was supposed to be important in relation to Hegel. That's all I got, give me a break, I read this two years ago!

*As we move further and further back, this is going to become more common.

That Ken Burns thing. Have you seen it? Its kind of interesting, kind of problematic and kind of boring.

No, but I've heard of it. Perhaps I'll take a look. What's problematic about it?

In each two hour special, you get fifteen minutes of oh-yeah-and-there-were-really-good-black-players. But I think this should be much more of the story. And like Sheffield, I am really sick of hearing that any so and so was the greatest player at the position, when clearly we have no idea who the greatest played in a given position really was.

It is still worth seeing though, especially if you’re a total baseball nerd, like, oh, you.
