Wow! That was quick. I just heard on the radio this morning that he'd deferred his plea - which was taken to mean that he would plea bargain in order to get home. The Australian government has promised that he will be home before Christmas and that he will serve any sentence he's given here. Which of course adds further proof that he is a political prisoner (held at the pleasure of the politicians) and the commission is just a judicial veneer.
It will be interesting to see whether, if this judge adds anything more onto the 5 years he has already done, he actually spends more than about a week in gaol back here. I'm guessing that the Australian courts won't think much of the American process by which he will be sentenced.
Much more serious will be the cases of those who don't have lawyers and people back home pressuring their politicians to get political prisoners released.
