Funny how things change all the time, ay?

Seriously, there are many decisions to be made over the next couple of months. I know that ultimately they are my decisions to make but I would love some imput from my friends so here goes...

I have three options for when I come home - two for sure.

I have been accepted back to UD to get my Masters in Education. I will be working toward my teaching certificate (taking five classes at Wright State) while taking classes at UD towards my Masters. Now, herein lies the decision within the decision or more options, etc.

- work full-time (having found said employment) while attending school part-time so I won't have to take out more stupid school loans
- work part-time, pay more attention to school work - hence taking out more stupid school loans
- work as a GA (if accepted) and focus on school more since classes will be paid for
- work as an RC (I'm in the alternate pool) and focus more on school work since classes will be paid for

Pros:
1. Will get to live with Missy again!! Hip, Hip, Hooray!!
2. Will be back at UD and in Dayton where I know a ton of people and have a ton of contacts.
3. Will know where/how to get started on my thesis research.
4. Will be able to obtain an Ohio teaching certificate and not worry about getting another certificate transfered from another state.

Cons:
1. Have to pay for it through loans or full-time employment (unless get a GA or RC position) - welcome to the real world, ay?
2. Have to spend a good deal of my summer searching for a job and an apartment on limited funds - since I was a volunteer this year and could save very, very little.

Things have already done:
1. Written to and got information from the State of Ohio on what I need in order to get an Alternative Teachers License - just need one class on teaching methods which I could take this summer. If I did this, I would be eligible to teach in the fall...but, will there be a position open??
2. Filled out FAFSA - finally declared an independent, therefore no expected family contribution which is great! (p.s. I hated that about being an undergrad)
3. Applied to WSU for the undergrad classes need for my teaching certificate
4. Emailed back and for with Dr. Andrews in the Education department about various things
5. Preliminary full-time job search online
6. Preliminary apartment search online
7. Applied for the Assistant Director of Annual Giving position at UD (full-time employment)

Things to do:
1. Wait...until I get home and can look for a job and an apartment
2. Wait...until I hear back from UD about a GA position
3. Wait...until I hear back from UD about an open RC position
4. Wait...until I get home to meet with Dr. Andrews and register for Masters classes
5. Wait...until I get home to meet with the financial aid department
6. Send in my transcript to WSU so I can register for classes
7. Continue preliminary job search online and send resume/cover letter where ever I can

I have been formally offered the position in Washington DC with Response-Ability. I would be a volunteer again for the next 1 to 2 years.

The jist:
- Graduate/teaching certificate classes paid for
- Work full-time as either an elementary or middle school teacher in the inner city of DC
- Room and Board paid for
- $250 stipend per month

Pros:
1. Will be in DC! (not too far from home, when you consider where I have been for the past year)
2. Becca lives there as well as many other people I know
3. Will be in the perfect place to begin my campaign on education reform and research for my thesis
4. Grad school paid for - no extra loans unless I believe that I will need more money to live on - which will still not add up to the amount I would need to study at UD
5. Will have a full-time teaching position where I will continue to gain experience teaching
6. Will be working in the inner city with urban kids where I can gain more insight on education inequality

Cons:
1. Will not be in Dayton...
2. Will be working and living in the inner city - dad is worried about crime
3. Will only have $250 a month - but being a volunteer that's to be expected
4. Did I mention, I won't be in Dayton?
5. Will not be able to go to Rome summer 2006 like we planned. (sounds superficial, but I want to go)
6. If accept, the orientation is July 11th - 22nd...which makes it difficult because of Julie's wedding being on the 23rd...

SO....

I have some huge decisions to make in the next two months. Like I said above, any opinions would be great appreciated and are definitely expected! IM me or leave me a comment...

Miss you all and can't wait to see you in 41 days! :)
