What contest would you like to see?

So the mod or one of the mods, not sure how many mods there are here, said it was okay to have a contest. So was wondering what kind of contest would you all be interested in doing? I'm thinking maybe the deadline could be two to four weeks to get it done? Not sure. Any help would be appreciated ( Read more... )

I think it would have to depend on how many people are wanting to participate. We could do a traditional icontest or a 20in20. Or we could do a fest sort of thing instead of a contest if that would go over better.

If we need someone to step up, I run a bunch of LJ comm/contests already, so if we decide what we want to do, I should be able to whip something up fairly quickly.

Well other then you and the mod. Only one other member posted a comment saying they wanted a contest? So not sure if anyone else is going to participate.

Is the 20In20 one where you make 20 different sets of icons, all with different settings that you have to obey when making it, such as for example. One icon would have to be a B&W, and another one would have to be a close up shot. And you have 5 that you can do whatever you want to them, using whatever pictures? Sorta like that?

I've done ones like that myself, I was thinking of doing that when I asked permission to have a contest here. Because I did enjoy doing them so much. If that is not what you meant, please explain. lol

What do you mean fest sort of thing?

Sorry for the all questions, I just want to be 100% sure I understand correctly.

I just didn't want to be too gung-ho on a big contest if there would only be a few of us- I tend to get a bit overenthusiastic, though I'm trying to temper that!

Yup, a 20in20 is just that- you usually have 20 days to make 20 icons, and there's 10 specific prompts you have to follow, plus 5 icons that fit a certain category, and 5 icons that are artist's choice. This is the tag for 20in20s at my own icon journal, if you want examples (plus, all of the contests I do have links to the comms if you wanted to check them out).

As far as a fest, the ones I've usually been part of have consisted of one phase where people post prompts, and then in the second part other people fill them, whether it be with graphics or fic or fanmixes or whatever.

Don't worry about the questions- like I said above, I tend to get a bit over-enthusiastic, so to me questions just mean someone else is actually interested in the things I'm interested in! :)

Yep. I know what that is, used to do several of them a few years ago. Just wasn't sure if that's what you were talking about.

Well. I'm thinking maybe doing the fest one since some may not want to do icons. And I like the fanmixes idea! What do you think we should do?, since not that many people are showing interest. Or they just haven't seen the post/s.
