A/N:Piper watches them sleep and can't imagine what waits for them
Piper walked into the room, paused by the door and stood watching the boys she knew had so much ahead of them, Wyatt destined to be the most powerful witch in the world, Chris destined to make sure he things right. She couldn’t match the men they were going to become to the children she saw sleeping before her. It didn’t seem real, and part of her refused to let it become so. The only comfort she could take, was that they would never face anything alone, they would always have each other, and that was all she could ask.

Part of Chris remember things he wished another version of himself had never seen. Part of him saw a world ruled by tyranny, ruled by the caring older brother who took care of him and watched over him. Part of him lived on edge, waiting for a turn that would never happen, a betrayal Wyatt could not conceive, a power no one could understand. Part of him watched his mother with fascination that she was still before him, not dead, not taken from him. Part of him couldn’t live, because it was still living the life that might have been.
