Pantheon Problems

I'm putting together an extended photographic project with the of theme "Young Gods".   The idea is to take modern people in modern dress and modern locations, and present them in a way that reflects the concepts and myths of mythical figures ("gods").  So, for example, a well-built, bearded man in the rain would represent Thor.  Or a young woman ( Read more... )

A list of Maya gods.
A list of Hindu gods.

I know they both had alot of gods/deities. No idea about other religions.

But are there any particular gods that you find particularly interesting?

There are a bazillion myths and gods out there, I'm trying to find the interesting ones without having to wade through 9,000 wikipedia pages. :)

I'd say if you could depict a businessman as shady, or even slimy, while still being charismatic, you've got your Loki ( ... )

I've got a bunch of the Greek/Roman stuff sort of figured out. I'm trying to break out of that European mode, though. I'm looking for interesting, distinct gods from other pantheons.
