My maternal grandmother had a very high fever when she was in her thirties, and it permanently damaged her ability to remember words correctly. She routinely interchanged 'marmot' and 'mormon', being the one this reminded me of, so we'd be driving through a mountain meadow ten km from the nearest human being and she'd say "hey look at the mormon sitting on that rock!" But it was when she talked about how marmots kept coming to her front door and bothering her that I had the hardest time keeping a straight face.
