I believe it was the 1988, although I just went downstairs and looked and can't find it so it's probably on long term/permanent loan.

That cover you've got listed as 1990 Random House, the one with the glowing green guy, that's definitely the cover that was on my copy which I read as a kid in the 70s.

Honestly that makes a lot of sense! All of the dates were gotten from goodreads, which are community sourced and about as reliable as wikipedia, so.
