Waiting to hear back from a caseworker today about work. I'm nervous, yet detached too. I'm a wee bit ticked that a guy has had paperwork in for the past three years, and has only been there for a few weeks each year due to back problems. Now the contract has changed, so people can't do that anymore. I understand it cuts down on the game players, ( Read more... )

Not sure. I got approved for FMLA for now. When I had surgery in 2003, I didn't have the time in for FMLA, yet I got 3 weeks disability approved, so I'm confused. I'm going to call my caseworker tomorrow and ask her some questions.

According to my caseworker, if it needs to be extended past the date, my doctor lets them know, and they extent it to just disability, so that's a relief, just in case. Anytime I lift the smallest thing or sneeze, it really sets me back. And sleeping is difficult. Someone told me to get a body pillow for my side(s). I may do that.

So, are you eligible for disability? You could just soak in it for awhile and pursue some online training/software courses or something until that runs out. Then you'd be ready for a swank desk job!

I could apply for state disability but that could take months to get approved. I don't think Merck can do anything, or they could but they won't because of the union. My Mom's company got her disability for 4 months, so I may look into it. I want to know how that one guy can have a whole year off. I counted maximum vacation, sick and FMLA time, and he was 6 months short. Yet everyday on our time sheet it has an A next to his name, meaning absent. So what the hell?

I can get the disability extended by my doctor as long as the appropriate forms are filled out. Gah, I have to think to spell now. It used to be sort of photogrphic for me.
