We had an absolute blast at the zoo, it was hotter than hell, but it was fun. There was only one problem, all the animals were asleep. The tigers, leopards, bears and even the monkeys were passed out from the heat. Luke got to see a really big Moose close up, so now every thing that is big and hairy...it's a moose ( Read more... )

Glad to hear that you all had a good time and made it home safe ... and that Luke is a typical kid that loves McD's ... LOL!!!! I want to see the pictures.

which zoo did you go to? Ive seen a huge Moose at the one in Columbus.. and interestingly, there was a squirrel in the enclosure running around which prompted captain_phil to do Rocky and Bullwinkle jokes the rest of the day *G*

We were at Columbus, so we have seen the same Moose. Poor guys was probably roasting from the 90+ temperatures. I believe this was the first time Luke noticed a smell, when we were leaving he said "Pew...poopy". It was hilarious!

It'd be hard not to notice a smell in that heat *G*

I love the Columbus zoo.. its been a few years since I've been for some reason. We used to always go up for a pre-season hockey game and hit the zoo before game time, but the last couple of years we didn't work out the logistics I guess. Maybe this fall!

I can't wait to go back. I may wait until it gets cooler though so the animals will be more active.

uhh Do you remember the last time we were all at ANY Zoo? You'd better rethink what you mean by "Active"
