I had lunch with a friend yesterday, and the topic of childhood memories came up. They asked me about my memories and there was really only one that came to mind. If you ever need to talk, I'm always willing to listen. Sometimes I have words of wisdom and sometimes not, but sometimes it's better to let it out regardless of the wisdom.

I think it's time for you to heal ....

I agree, I think that if you can start talking about it that you are ready to heal. I also don't think there is anything wrong with you not being able to remember either. My brother was 8 and I was 12 when my parents divorced and there is about a years worth of time that he doesn't remember. Then later when my Mom left when I was 16 and my Dad moved back in I don't remember anything about her packing up and leaving, I just remember her living there and then her not living there. So something as tragic as what you went through, I can easily see how years would just not really be there for you. I can understand how it would take you all these years to get to the point where you are able to even deal with it. That is a huge thing for a kid to have to try to understand and deal with, especially while their parents are trying to cope as well. It just isn't fare that kids should ever have to go through what you went through. I hope you are at a point where you can overcome the emotions that have kept things locked up inside you and ( ... )
