2012 book log, #8: The Stand, by Stephen King

I had this in the brand-new audiobook version of the unabridged edition, read by Grover Gardner. Just under 48 hours. Wow.

I like The Stand although the only time I re-read it was when the expanded version came out (I liked it better). I did read it when I was young enough that I wouldn't have noticed the male reader bias.

And I kind of liked most of the mini-series, too, especially the opening credits crawl.

After reading 11/22/63, which is apparently something he started working on in the early 70s, I'd really like to see a latter-day King re-do of this one. (But yes, not as much as I'd like to see something new.)
