Tonight I've decided that I'm going to write my review as a watch the episode so every time the show makes my eyes pop out of my head or scream "holy shit" at the tv, I can write it down. So here's my reaction written during the episode, and then my subsequent review.
Ok first of all, someone wrote a comic about them?!
AHAHAHAHA "From the racist truck to me having sex. I'm full frontal in here dude." Amazing, such a wonderful Dean line. Also, I wish I had a copy.
Ah Dean just gets better, "well screw you simpatico, we lived it."
And then the slash fans, thank you Kripke for supporting all the wonderful fangirls out there who love a little (or in my case a lot) of slash from time to time. He keeps giving us more and more material to work with.
Ahhh this episode is so jam packed with irony, like the girl asking why real men can't be in touch with their emotions like that? It's amazing that this girl is doting on them but doesn't even know it's them. And then quizzing them on themselves, perfect. And her tattoo, that was fantastic. I also like how each book is the same name as an episode of the show.
I'm not loving the narration though, it's a little cheesy...but here's my question, do the Sam and Dean in the story look like the real ones? Cause if they do how did he not know? But I guess the last name finally did it.
"Obviously I'm a god." It's perfect, he thinks he's causing their lives to be the way they are. He's nuts, totally nuts.
And now the narration makes sense, he had already written what was going to happen that day. I love how shocked Sam was when Dean knew Cat's Cradle and Slaughterhouse Five...Dean is just full of surprises isn't he?
"You just thought I was a dick" "Hm, Guy's good." Dean's face, fantastic.
OH MY GOD THE DREAM!!!!! AND THEN A COMMERCIAL BREAK, YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. I totally just saw Sam and Lilith getting onto a bed together! AHHHHHHHH.
I agree with Dean, Sam is far from ready for a death match with Lilith, even with the demon blood in him. And Dean is also right about Sam potentially hooking up with Lilith, I mean it's not like he has such big issues with fucking demons or anything.
I love how Dean just told Sam to behave himself by watching porn. Priceless.
Ok now everything is coming true, the red motel, the minivan accident. I can't wait to see Dean with the pink flower band aids.
OK EVEN THE WRITER KNOWS DRINKING BLOOD IS WRONG! And poor Sam, I feel like he's just as broken as Dean is, but in a different way. But I love that Sam is opening up to Chuck of all people. I'm kind of hoping this episode will help the boys get some stuff out on the table. Chuck seems pretty insightful, I'm actually starting to like him a lot, especially since he's making Sam face things that he might not want to deal with. OH NO! It might all rest on Sam's shoulders.
Dean does not look happy about the tarp, not happy at all.
Ok so Cas shows up and we find out that Chuck is a "prophet of the lord". ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
"The Winchester Gospel" You have got to be kidding me! Winchester Gospel?!?! I don't even understand. But the fact that what he has written is going to happen, that makes me extremely nervous. I really hope that the Sam and Lilith sex has some ulterior motive on Sam's part, like he's going to kill her, or he's going to torture her for information.
And here comes the time where Sam should be revealing what he's been doing, but instead he just stands there like a fool. Sam what the fuck are you doing?! Tell Dean the truth! I think that Sam's actions are making Dean even 'weaker' than he already was when he came back from Hell. Not that Dean could ever be weak physically, but emotionally I think he's even more broken now because of Sam using his psychic stuff and all the lies he's feeding Dean. And the fact that Dean resorts to PRAYER because he doesn't know what else to do just kills me. I feel so bad for him, I just want to hold him and make him better. I really wish Cas could do something, you can tell some part of him wants to do something, but he really can't. And I totally agree with what Dean had to say about never asking for help and needing this from Cas, and not to ask for help if Cas won't help him now. Ok nevermind, Cas just told Dean exactly why he can't interfere and about the Archangels and what to do to potentially destroy Lilith. I love him so much, he's such a brilliant character and he's so thoughtful and you can tell he really cares about Dean, something that I didn't really expect initially because he seemed so emotionless.
Wait Lilith can burn a devil's trap? And then Sam can't destroy Lilith, and she can't hurt him. This is absurd, I hate Lilith and I really don't give a shit about what she wants, I just want her to die. But apparently she does die, so that's good. But Sam can't sacrifice himself, or Dean! NO WAY! But he just said yes?!?!?!?! ohhhh that's why the sexing is going to happen...to seal the deal, but Sammy clearly had other plans. If only it had worked, but then we all know that Lilith can't die, what would happen to the show?
WAIT WHAT DID HE SEE? WHAT DID HE SEE?!?!?!?!? Zacharia don't do this. Oh poor Chuck, he's so tormented, I wonder if he is going to come back in later episodes?
and a little note about the preview for the next new episode. A third Winchester?!?!? Who is this kid and why is Sam teaching him to be a hunter? I want to see it right now!!!!!!!!!!
