Thank you. I'm left wondering if she'll actually be able to play anything at all.

Thanks! I'm surprised how much Dawn I'm writing. I'm glad you don't mind.

The closet full of abandoned projects and past times makes me a bit blue, too. Thanks for reading.

Real sweet, this one, any time you delve into an attic for childhood memories...lovely story.

It's made all the more bittersweet when those childhood memories aren't even real! Dawn is becoming fascinating to me.

Really nice. I have to admit, it took me a moment to figure out who Hank was - did we know their father's name? My first thought it was her instructor's name, but the second reading made me think Dawn was rejecting the title 'father'. I liked this glimpse into Dawn's past, especially the paradox of her wondering if the music would sound as sweet as she "remembered".

Thank you for reading and commenting. These prompts have been great fun. For some reason the strangeness of Dawn being a construct has suddenly fascinated me.

Hank's name is mentioned a couple of times in canon, though he's certainly even more obscure than some peripheral characters. I don't think he's even mentioned after Joyce dies.
