why cant you register for the things you REALLY need? like a new bed or a couch. but register in a way that people donated towards your couch. i know, it sounds horrible. but then you could say, my friends and family bought us this living room set! or they got this vintage blahblahblah on ebay off of my wish list!

sure, it would be great to have new everything, but mark and i have been living together for a year now, so we pretty much have everything we need, plus i had a ton of my own stuff from before. i feel totally guilty for asking for the things i already have, like towels and new drinking glasses and other household items.

and the truth is, i enjoy finding vintage stuff and dont want anything else except MORE vintage pieces! AND more than anything, we love to find them at thrift stores for 50¢ a piece! we always have such good luck and i have some really good stuff! i'd list everything, but there is too much to list and i'm sure there are really only like 5 people that actually care about vintage goodies on my friends list!

things i actually need--

• couchs that match. and are not from ikea.
• storage.
• a nice piece of wall art. something big.
• a new bed.
• a lazy boy type chair.
• items to match my vintage things. like a lamp that matches the other one that i have or a bowl to replace the one we found in the cabinet yesterday that is broken straight down the middle, except for about an inch.
• gift certificates to places that i can get stuff when i need it. like target, ikea, gas, sephora, the grocery store, walgreens, thrift town, etc!
• the car paid off.
• an extreme makeover.
• gym membership.
• one month's rent.
• an air conditioner.
• a bedroom set.
• a house.
• movers to help us take our stuff down 4 floors when it comes time to move.
• a kitchen aid mixer. why i still dont have one is beyond me.
• a new computer.
•........

i dunno, it just seems silly to ask people for a vase or a frying pan when i dont really need them. i'd use them of course, but i could use what i already have. so if you even see any of my registries, dont be shocked to see ridiculous items like a s'mores maker or a bocce ball set! i know, i dont even have a yard! but i will one day. hopefully one day in the spring of 2005.
