sedimentally sentimental

Dec 28, 2010 17:06

Here's a poem, it has been awhile, rather raw but just to get writing:

sentiments settle out of still water,
but swirl along when the current is swift
In the calm of the lake, as the years drift by
Season after season, layer by layer
A story slowly writes itself

And sediments attach to every thing:
A swift smattering of silt
Slips from a slow viola solo
And traces footprints from the stage

A meeting and a memory
Might be mired deep in clay
Beware of stepping in fresh sediments
They can bury you right away
