With only a few quick strokes a form appeared on the pure white paper. Black ink seamlessly faded into grey, a thick stroke became thinner than a single hair, and suddenly a beautiful woman came to life right then and there.
“Well, what do you think? She’s a real hottie, right? Hehehe.”
He turned to look at his fuzzy companion, but the wolf seemed to have fallen asleep during the time it had taken him to complete the painting. He bounced up and down furiously beside the creature’s head, the gentle green glow that surrounded him becoming a hot red.
“Hey! Don’t just ignore me!” He stopped bouncing for a moment and glared at the fluffy white form, but it was completely immune to the wrath of his tiny eyes.
“Whatever, you just don’t know great art when you see it.”
The wolf picked up its head and blinked at him once or twice before yawning and going back to sleep. It was a particularly hot afternoon and the two had stopped to rest under the shade of a large tree. Nearby a small group of sparrows chirped and hopped about picking up seeds. Everything was peaceful and quiet save for the fuming of the small, bouncing fairy like creature. He eventually gave up trying to get the wolf’s attention and instead jumped onto its head to get comfortable.
“There’s nothing wrong with relaxing every now and then, I guess. But just remember that we still have a lot of stuff to do! There are all of those things we’re looking for… You know, those?”
He couldn’t quite remember the name of whatever they were looking for, but he couldn’t be bothered to try and think about it at the moment. His eyelids were already growing heavy, the gentle din of a waterfall in the background only serving to lull him further to sleep. Before long he was snoring away, smack in the middle of the wolf’s forehead, all his troubles completely forgotten as his brain began to concoct a dream involving vast amounts of gold and treasure and doe eyed beauties with low slung tops.
