For those of you who knew him: Today, I was informed that our building manager, Brian Schaber, passed away on my birthday, 12 December 2003. He died three weeks after being diagnosed with cancer in his spine. The building is funding a bench in his memory to be placed in Volunteer Park. It is quite saddening.

This morning, we captured Saddam. Meaning that now Americans will remember how our hero, George Bush, led us to glorious victory against those oil-sucking enemies of American statehood. Five weeks after discontinuing my antidepressant treatment with Effexor, I 've changed to Escitalopram (Lexapro), an advanced new SSRI. As I sit here and prepare to examine my bank account, I'm again reminded that burying one's head feels very good. To simply ignore some problems feels great, even as the problem grows to elephantine proportions.
