The Murky Parts of the Story

I continue to find the Sarah Palin Chronicles absolutely gripping.(Why do I always get an image of Sarah Connor doing pullups in my head when I hear her name?) Anyway, you may have heard that she and her husband had ties to a Secessionist party called AIP, an organization that calls for the infiltration of the major parties with candidates who ( Read more... )

The fact that she didn't immediately seek medical care when she was in labor and starting contractions (aside from a phone call to her Alaskan doctor) is really hard to swallow, and really just makes everyone kinda say "wha?" The fact that the story has so many more threads is absolutely amazing.

As far as the 36 months on the plane thing goes, there is this one part of the story that's consistent: everyone said she didn't seem to get big when she was pregnant this time. Now, that's fodder for the "not her baby" theory, but it does jibe with the "no one freaked out when the gestating behemoth boarded the plane" claim.

The flip side of the "Bristol chose life" thing is "Bristol is the new poster child for abstinence only Sex-ed."

honestly i could care less whose kid it is, but - i can sort of see not being immediately concerned being that it was her 5th kid - however i do not know the complications associated with a birth dealing with downs.

also, unless they are lying (which is entirely possible) about how far along bristol is in her pregnancy (5 mos) how could the 4 month old be hers? (am i missing something in here?)

i'm curious as to how the whole thing plays out, but not enough that it's going to distract me from the issues i'm really interested in.

Right- if they're not lying about how pregnant Bristol is or when Trig was born, then Trig can't be hers, but I think it's obvious that they wouldn't be forthright about it if it was the case.

The lack of effective vetting is a stunning early measure of the incompetence of a McCain presidency though, I really don't know what it is about Republicans these days but I think perhaps the cynicism on that side of the isle has reached such a fever pitch that competence finally has absolutely no bearing on your status within a republican campaign and it's just an army of yes-men. Seriously, I don't know how else this could have happened.
