Honestly I thought she was making it look fake so people would attack her, then her medical records would make all the haters look like jerks, kind of like the Rove rat-fsck over the "forged" national guard memos, but no payoff here yet. Still a few hours remaining, but the moment to change attitudes has past.

she had a baby with downs syndrome --- something which is next to impossible if her daughter had the baby, but could be quite common for a woman of palin's age.

tho personally i think having to release medical records is stupid and a bit of an invasion of privacy

Well, when you're signing up for a high-stress 4-year contract and you're the most important person in the world, I think the invasion of privacy is warranted. That said, what most politicians have done is allow journalists to examine their medical records in a closed room where they can emerge and say whether they saw anything that was cause for concern or not. The idea is that the details are kept private, but the public gets a few proxies to vouch for the fitness of the candidate.

I no longer think it was Trig's baby, even though that would be a captivating storyline. I think it's something else that would be embarrassing politically, and it's not hard to speculate at a few things that could be in there that would do some damage to her image.
