Its very odd his detachment throughout the piece, he looks at the event from the journalistic view.

I don't read any emotion whatsoever.

In all reality, I don't read a closeness besides that of blood and familarity

The only fear is that it would happen to him. Emotionally it seems devoid of any true feeling or attachment towards the two siblings.

Maybe a faint whisper of a longing to have been closer.

But yes it indicates drive and determination, but in the same light a clear detachment, almost a passive observer role, inaction in clarity
