In the long run, people can handle honesty. They may not want to hear it, but finding out something sooner rather than later will at least get people on the road to getting over it. It's trying to hide something, or waiting for an "appropriate time" or "appropriate way to say it" that causes more damage.

See, there's a few differences there. If you're trying to edge around addressing something and someone pushes you into being cruelly blunt, you really should have just been upfront about whatever it is. Trust me, I've been there. Hell, I'm there right now.

However, if you were upfront about it and they just didn't get it, out of either stupidity or willful ignorance, then you really had no choice, and I feel for you. Been there as well.

Then again, hell, I met you all of once and we're just barely friends. Like I know you or have any right to talk.
