It's snowing outside, everyone! Isn't that exciting?

I'm from California so we don't get it often but it's a nice change of pace! Is there a lot of snow where you're from?

Back in Germany we had some snow, yes. But my family and I lived in the city, so it was not ideal. The better snow is in the country.

California is in America, yes?

And yes, California is in America. On the west coast, to be exact. I wish I had gone to Germany though. It's lovely out there, I hear.

Personally, I like the fall.

And to avoid this coming up in a less opportune situation, I am from 1944, so no time was a particularly good time. But the Allies win the war, I learned, so it does not matter much anymore.

The Fall sounds lovely. Do the trees' leaves all change colors?

It is fine. I have not been home for two years now.

Yes, they do. The city doesn't have too many of them, but there are apple trees around.

That sounds very nice. Perhaps when it's really winter here we'll be able to see the orchard trees do the same!

[She doesn't want to pry. Bryn's extremely uncomfortable at her unexpected social gaffe and would hate to step on toes again.]

That would certainly be nice. I have missed watching the trees change color.
